My Dad died after severe constipation and a kidney infection. He had been battling the neurological disease ALS for 3 years up to that point.
Before he passed he actually stopped eating and drinking for 3 days, so he unknowingly put himself on a dry fast.
When he woke up he seemed much better and was more alert and talkative. He was very thirsty and asked for water. I gave him 16
oz of water with about 1 tablespoon of manuka honey in it. He then asked for another glass of water and drank that down.
Then he said he wanted to get in his wheelchair and out of bed. After we got him in his wheelchair he sat there for about 30 seconds and then I saw the life leave his eyes and he passed away.
Did we make a mistake by letting him sit up so soon?
Did I make a mistake by giving him some manuka honey in his water?
Did he drink too much water too fast?
Thanks.
