Water Fasts as well.
I am mostly doing to this to lose weight and to maybe help with some other health issues.
Starting weight was 240 and am 233.2 this morning. Day 5. Wife is also doing it with me and is on Day 4 she is done around 4 or 5 pounds. Her starting weight was 189.
For the first few days have been just using store juice.
100% apple, some carrot, some other stuff.
I had problems with low blood pressure at day 18 on last years juice fast. So this time around figure to drink some juices with salt or to maybe take salt pills. Obviously if you don't take in enough or any salt you are going to have big problems. Also in past made sure to drink or take some potassium pills as started to get bad cramping in legs from low potassium and heard you can get the cramps in heart and not a good thing!
I lost around 20
pounds last juice fast and funny but started it around 240 as well.
Last January . So can't say kept the weight off. I did however weigh 260 few years back did some
Water Fasting and managed to hold off 20
pounds since. I have been trying all conventional ways to low weight.
I have been doing weights for at least 3 months regularly and done lots of treadmill all without much seeming effect. My weight has stubbornly stayed in the 235 to 242 range for several years. Thats why tried the juice fast last year.
Water Fasting of course is much harder to do.
I can of course mix it up a bit. Juice most of the week and water on the weekends maybe.
I am not religious. Not in any tradional sense. I do find though some nice clarity of a thought when fasting and seem to get a nice feelling of purity if that is the right word.
I am male , 5ft 6. Heavy frame but am major overweight at 240. I would think I should be maybe 160 to 180 max.
My medical problems are gout , which seems to be under control since starting taking health food store pills like
Celery seed and threw away the allipurinol months ago.
Other problem is either bad Acid reflux or possibly gall bladder stones. I have been on nexium with not much help.
I have never really been screened for gall bladder stones.
I get something that seems like acid attack. When it happens and it is hard to figure why or what triggers it ,
my stomach gets very hard and distended. Then start sweating usually and then the pain starts usually in middle of breast bone or solar plexus region .It comes in waves with usually some time in between then another wave. It can last minutes sometimes and sometimes antacids seem to help and sometimes it can last as it did lately for hour or more. I think read that gall bladder stones are maybe more what it is and that acid usually don't last for hour or more. I haven't gone to emergency but likely will next attack .
But also figured maybe my overweight condition is big contributing factor to these attacks.
I plan to do more actual
juicing have to dig my juicer out of storage from move and then will stop mostly drinking the 100% juices as also there are not many vegetable 100% juices out there.
I didn't change my lifestyle after my previous fasts. I believe man is basically a omnivore by nature and design and don't think will ever give up my meat. I could possibly have some allergies to gluten, dairy never really been tested for that stuff .
Anyway rambling .Hello everyone nice to be back and be warned I do have some opinions.
I also take some green tea during the fast for extra energy usually in capsule form.
My energy levels are great right now fact if anything am hyper.
I did have chronic fatigue for long time but think finally figured it out. I was getting 4 to 5 hours sleep a night. For some reason I never nap so was always running a deficit. So started sleeping more and feel 100% better. No medical reasons were ever found for the fatigue.
Also as per previous fasts I had basically zero hunger by day 2. The one big key is no solid food that will restart your stomach.
Also hearing different things on keeping the bowels working thru this fast. Some say to take psyliumm or similar and some say not to worry. A bit unsure what going to do this time around .
And also bought a blood pressure monitor to make sure its not super low. If it does get super low as said will either take salt pills or drink some juice that has salt and or potassium.
