Typically those with AF have low blood pressure that drops even lower upon standing, as Natway said. I have this issue. My blood pressure stays low generally all the time.
But
I had high blood pressure for months in the beginning of AF- or should I say when I actually noticed it. It was a result of my anxiety and panic attacks, and the fact that my body was under extreme duress for months before finally burning out. During this stage, I actually had high cortisol. I was stuck in fight or flight 24 hours a day. It was like the gas pedal was stuck to the metal.
In true burnout, everything slows down, and this is when my blood pressure dropped and so did my cortisol. My adrenals finally caved from all the stress. Even though at this point I had absolutely no energy, the release from the anxiety and rushes was a Godsend.
Have you had a saliva test done? You could actually have high cortisol. It's confusing because many of the symptoms overlap, but it's important to know because the two conditions are treated differently. Your hair mineral analysis will also tell you if your cortisol is high. When I was in this stage, I had potassium levels through the roof and elevated sodium. Those with low cortisol will have low sodium and low potassium. Both conditions will show a low Na/K ratio.
My advice to you is that you need to cut down on worrying. Don't try to identify stages or worry about every little thing. This alone creates tons of added stress and anxiety that will cause BP to go up as well. I know it's hard, but it is imperative to try and relax. Trust me on this!
It sounds like you are in the same place that I was months ago, and I would be very surprised if your HMA does not indicate that you are in fast oxidation. As a fast oxidizer, fasting is the absolute worst thing you can do. If you are in fast oxidation, you are burning fuel at an increased rate, and starving your body will send you into the pit of AF hell. I also learned this the hard way after a 5 day juice fast that put me in the hospital.
It's up to you if you want to try it, but if I were you I would wait for your HMA results to come back before trying anything drastic.
And yes, the cranial pressure is b*tch. I find it gets worse when I'm dehydrated.
