I don't think this is related to candida. Candida is largely a problem in lower colon.... which is over 5 feet away from your stomach.

I think it may have something to do with a lack of acidity in your stomach ? I agree that it is not leaky gut. That is too severe- but it shows that food is a problem when it reaches a certain place in your body. I have had a similar effect when waste is in my lower bowel.

I understand your concerns about seeing Dr.'s and getting no diagnosis. I can tell you what helped me, and it is an applied kinesiologist.

I think you should see a applied kinesiologist who can muscle test to determine the exact organ that is the problem, and can work on getting some herbs to correct the problem.

If you want to do stool testing, do Metametrix as it is the best and most advanced, far more than traditional methods.

I went through a similar thing with low-carb diet too. Long time ago I went through a vegetarian phase and started having issues. Doctor said I was eating too many grains. Started eating meat again and less grains and started feeling better. Ate that way for over a decade. Then when the low-carb craze really started getting popular, seemed like I was mostly eating meat and dairy products. Started getting these real bad hypoglycemic-like symptoms where if a didn't eat a high protein meal every 2-3 hours I'd feel irritable and like I was going to drop to the floor with weakness. Started doing more strict paleo by cutting out all dairy and adding more vegetables. Too much fruit would make me feel wired and weird and then weak. No matter what I did or what supplements I tried, I was slowly getting worse and worse.

Then someone told me about this nutrition doctor who said too much animal protein could be causing my problems, I rushed out to read the chapter in his book that described exactly what I was going through, then the next day I started juice fasting and within a week all those symptoms went away. Now I eat more plant-based, but not so extreme as before and also low-fat and low-sodium which I had before. I basically eat the 80-10-10 style.

From what I learned since, too much protein is very hard on the body to digest and eliminate and too much fat interferes with carb/sugar absorption needed to fuel every one of our cells and starts causing things like insulin problems.

I have been in the exact same situation as you and I know exactly what you need to do. Okay, so you were getting sick with colds and flu's before you removed all grains, dairy and beans. You switched to paleo diet and stopped getting sick but the question is why? The simple answer is that when you were eating grains and dairy, you're immune system was somewhat functional although you had a lot of toxins in your body, probably many long-term infections and other problems. When you started the paleo diet you're immune system basically stopped working, your body now does not have enough mucous to even make you sick and clear out the bad stuff so everything is trapped inside. The longer you stay on this diet the sicker your body is becoming (even though your immune system doesn't work). I think that if you really think about it you will know that what I am saying is correct. As I said, I have been exactly where you are right now. I was also doing a juice fast, when I finally realized this was NOT working and I needed to do something different. So what do you need to do? You need to start eating the foods that make you feel sick so that your body can start to clear out the toxins. Yes, you will feel much worse before you feel better, and you have put yourself into a situation where your digestion will barely work and everything you eat will be toxic, but you still have to eat grains and nourishing foods if you ever want to get better. Right now you are eating all meats and fats which are the most difficult things to digest, you need to switch to eating the things that are EASIEST for your body to digest. What do they feed babies that have week digestion? You feed babies cooked fruit, cooked vegetables, simple carbs rice and grains. Everything should be cooked for now until your digestion will get stronger. If you feel sick from eating this way, great that means your immune system is starting to function again. I know it is difficult once you are in the situation that you are in but I think you realize that you have no other option. The diet you have been following is the exact opposite of what you need. I am in this journey also for healing.
I am in research mode still. and trying things.
GAPS diet was is latest thing. But its modified since I can not tolerate meat except for small amounts of fish. And I dont agree with everything on the diet, or rather my body doesnt.

I feel best fasting and on green juices primarily with some fruit.

I am currently being treated for mold exposure.

Things I have found out in my travels:

Head injuries ( tbi ) / concussions and leaky gut/ intestinal permeability are linked. A high percentage of rats given experimental TBIs devoloped leaky gut.

Untreated leaky gut has a high incident of developed leaky brain/ blood brain permeability.

Some studies show leaky brain causes leaky gut.

Leaky gut can be life threatening eventually for some.

My symptoms ( that had me on disability last year ) were mostly brain. double and blurred vision cognition and memory impairment and tremendous brain fog. Not able to function. I would eat anything and be layed out incapacitated unable to move, it felt like fire or lead in my blood every time.

I did my own friggen research, advised my doctor of my conclusion and he said " you're probably right" and put me on GAPS.

I had a diagnosises of : mold exposure in 2012, genetically missing liver pathways in 2011, adrenal fatigue 2008 ( resolved ) leaky gut in 2007, had peritonitis/ sepsis / ruptured appendix in 2004 ( resolved ), graves disease/ thyroid nodules 2004 ( resolved surgery), osteopenia 2004 ( resolved ) , degenerative disc disease 2004, chronic uticaria 2003, mild traumatic brain injury in 1999, allergies throughout childhood, kidney issues in preschool( resolved ).


Leaky brain diet is different from leaky gut. I say listen to your body but those who walked the leaky brain path before me say that amino acids make it through the blood brain barrier first.


So stay away from the grapefruit until you heal, and walnuts and well there is a list. Grapefruit is high in sulphur amino acids which " L-Taurine is synthesized from the essential, sulphur amino acid L-cysteine. Taurine can cross the blood brain barrier where it can inhibit ... to the fact that vegan diets tend to lack the sulphur rich taurine precurssor, L-cysteine.".

Listen to your body. If it affects your brain after eating it , eliminate it.

I tried kefir , homemade and I think its too soon, I developed eczema and either the mold exposure got worse int eh last month or the kefir made me relapse as my leaky gut, which was getting better, took a step backwards.

Also link between mold exposure and leaky gut.

For now I eat homemade 48 hour cultured yogurt, 500 billion probiotics a day , green Bentonite clay to mitigate when the body acidity is bad, also do calcium citrate to reduce symptoms until I heal, and cal-mag butyrate as a probiotic ( works great for me!!! ). I don't have the answers I am part of the way there and jsut starting to get scared enough to go back on fruits and veggies only.

i search i will find.. it can be healed.. whatever works.. think I have to get rid of the mold first !
