I am 32 yo female with 40 stubborn lbs to lose. My research led me to believe I have leaky gut/ibs after blood tests proved no hormone imbalance or thyroid, antibodies issues. Further research leads me to think I have candida and leaky gut/ ibs, not sure which came first, probably candida. Symptoms include: Severe dry scalp, acne, bloated, stomach pains after eating, gas, feeling like i always have to go to the bathroom (#2) yet no relief when i do go, eye floaters, one eye will become irritated and inflamed at random times, low libido, reflux, sinus congestion and cough. i had difficulty breastfeeding my twin boys when they were infants and As soon as I eat heavy processed carbs I can feel vaginal
Since October, I have implemented a vlc paleo diet which only made me gain 15 lbs and my
Acne became worse, scalp problems grew worse as well developing
Body Odor . I have since started the Perfect Health Diet by Dr. Paul Jaminet and skin issues are almost a non-issue. I would say they are completely cleared but as soon as I do, I'm sure to get a flare up. My reflux and sinus problems that were a problem for years aren't an issue at all since November. I usually have my worst sinus congestion at this time of the year and I have no congestion.
My gut is so swollen that I'm to the point of not wanting to leave the house. I am so embarrassed of how extended it gets. It can swell out 18-24
inches over the course of the day. It is not as bad as when i went vlc paleo but it is close. I no longer do extensive cardio sessions and mainly practice yoga, Pilates and strength training. Supplements I take : vitamin c, d3, k2, copper, iodine, magnesium, b6/b complex, zinc, omega 3. I just recently added l-glutamine, licorice (dgl), digestive enzymes, peppermint oil for my digestive issues. I've cut out dairy, gluten, onions and garlic as those respond horribly to my gut. I take a probiotic supplement 30billon renew life critical care, drink kombucha daily, beet kvass regularly and just started water kefir.
I do ok most days but get these unbelievable cravings for almond butter or coconut butter. I haven't craved
Sugar like I used to since implementing PHD but do go nuts for almond butter which isn't good for my belly, I'm assuming. My BMs vary but most regularly aren't formed but splatter paint (sorry for graphics). I have more often seen lots of mucus in my stools since going PHD.
Am I overdoing things? Am I on the right path? Should I do a liver cleanse or some sort of detox? I live nowhere near a naturopath and my regular doctor gives me zithromax or diflucan like candy if I need it. So i am trying to get a handle on this myself. I've recently discovered curezone and am even more overwhelmed at this point. Any advice or suggestions are welcome.
