This is my first cleanse. I am on day 18 with a goal of 30 days. I am following The Master Cleanse by the book. Only thing I haven't done is 6 glasses of lemonade per day, I usually have 4. I didn't lose weight until day 6 and have only lost 13 pounds total. I started taking armour thryoid on day 4. Any ideas????- Re: Urgent - On day 18 of cleanse an... #116981

I'd like to say that you should be having at least 6 glasses of the lemonade concoction daily but preferably 8 to 12... your body may be holding on to calories because you are not getting adequate caloric intake. Secondly, take into account how much water you are drinking on the lemonade diet excluding the lemon beverage. Your body may be retaining water. You should have as much pure water as you feel needed to quench thirst while on the lemonade diet. Also, although eliminations will be smaller than prior by day 18, there should still be bowel movements taking place of a liquid variety.

This is a reply to # 2,029,204The Master-Cleanse is for detoxing, and weight loss is only a welcome side-effect. All the same, some people are concerned with weight loss. I think of it as a tangible measure of fat shrinkage - and fat cells are where most toxins are stored.
Your situation is a little unusual, in that you didn`t lose weight for 6 days. Were you already on a strict diet before starting the MC?
As for weight loss, as in any other physical nutritional situation, it is rarely steady and there will be plateaus. I think the previous poster is correct. Also, there are times when the body is rebuilding damaged tissue, rather than eliminating it. That could be what is happening now.
If you think your metabolism has been damaged by yo-yo dieting, then supplementing the thyroid could help. Iodine is excellent, and should be taken with vitamin C and selenium to support it. The Iodine support forum and their FAQ is a great place to go for more information.
