When i last visited my derm, he asked me to continue with ICTYANE HD & ALOELIPS for another month. Then i asked him whether i can leave my lips completely alone for a long period of time. He said that it would be a good option for me! Hence i am leaving them alone & see how things work out.

This is a reply to # 2,027,794I wouldn't (personally) cross of a medication just because it can have side effects (stinging/burning when first starting to use Protopic can be a side effect, and it often ends after a few applications).
And I don't think his good effects were caused by Protopic, I think he just peeled his lips daily when removing the other creams. Very similar to my situation right now. Protopic doesn't seem to have any effect on my lips.- Re: so singh, what do you think of p... Healing2021

Stinging is a common side effect of many topical medications so you shouldnt cross it off because of that. But I have yet to hear about anyone being cured from Protopic and it is the most common treatment for EC, so thats a much better reason to cross it off your list.- Re: so singh, what do you think of p... This is a reply to # 2,028,084i read a case study about a woman being cured by protopic... but really who knows if it cured her or she just went into spotaneous remission... when you only have one or two cure stories for a product it could have just been up to chance.

This is a reply to # 2,027,569Yes even i feel that back when i was applying tacrolimus ointment o.1% w/w with other products i was simply peeling my lips indirectly i.e. while removing ICTYANE HD.
But the good thing is that after the treatment protocol that i had posted,i stopped getting that white gunk under my top lip after getting up in the morning. Also, now only the crusted area goes white after contact with water. The rest remains normal.
