so i have had problems with every birth control i've used so far, i'm allergic to condoms, ive had serious allergic reactions to birth control pills, i've tried the depo and it made me gain weight and bleed forever. after i had my second child, i tried to get back on the depo because it worked really well for me after my first child. i got the depo after two weeks of delivering my baby because i didn't want all that extra bleeding. but instead of decreasing my time in bleeding, i bleed for six months, so i got off of it and tried birth control pills and began getting dizzy spells and fatigue, as well as increased heart rate and nausea, so i heard about the mirena, a few of my friends suggested it because they said it was amazing, lite- no periods and little to no side effects and i don't have to worry about getting pregnant for five years. so i decided to give it a try. i got the five year one and getting it inserted was pretty uncomfortable, felt like the beginning stages of child birth. but afterwards i felt good, i was happy that i didn't have to worry anymore. i stopped having a period within a few days of getting the mirena. it seemed like a dream come true, but after a couple weeks, my strings disapeared. so i went to the doctor and he said they just got pulled up a little bit but he could still feel them. so i didn't worry about it. then a couple months past. i started having horrible right back pains, that increased when walking and almost took my breath away, followed by abdominal pains. i thought i kidney stones, and Gallstones possibly pancrentitis. because i spend too much time on the internet when i feel sick, looking for possible symptoms that match a diagnosis. but i went to the doctor and they ordered a ultrasound, everything looked good, no kidney stones no gall stones everything looked healthy and iud was in place. they did see that i had enlarged ovaries and some small ovarian cysts on both sides. so i have continually been in and out of the doctor for the past two months trying to figure out what is going on with me. the doctor ordered a mri for my back but i don't think that there is anything wrong with my back. because i do the same things all the time. i think these are all side effects from the mirena. well i went to the doctor last week and my doctor that delivered my last baby told me she couldn't find the strings at all. so i scheduled another app for this week. i went to the doctor today and had the same lady that inserted the iud see me. i told her i wanted it out. i have had it for six months now and i am having health problems and i want it out. she is the one that cut the strings too short mind you. well she tells me to get undressed and begins the process to see if she can find the strings. it feels as though she is digging around in me with a coat hanger. i am cramping horribly the whole time and then she leaves for a couple mins and leaves the clamp that opens your vagina in. so i am left with my stuff all exposed and im in pain. for five-ten mins she is scraping and digging around looking for the strings.and doesn't find them, so she tells me to come in next week so she can put a scope up there and locate the mirena and remove it that way. she perscribes me 5/500 tylenol plus codeine. and tells me to take two of those an hour before i go into see her plus they will give me a pain shot before she goes in and puts the scope in. this expirence was excruciating enough and she wants to go back in with little meds to deal with pain. idk. but now i am bleeding heavy and am having blood clots come out with extreme cramping and pain. is this normal? i called the doctor and all the receptionist could tell me is that the bleeding is normal but if it seems un normal or pain increases go to the er.idk but it seems un normal to me since i haven't had a period for four months now. i just don't feel good and these damn knock off brand of vicodin aren't helping. can anyone tell me if i should be worried about the bleeding and pain? has anyone else gone through this? what do you suggest i do? i just want this thing out of me. should i change doctors, cause she does suck. but then it will probably take even longer to get this thing removed. what should i do. unexpirenced in the mirena field and confused and scared.
