I suffered from very noticable collagen and muscle tissue loss, but yours sounds much more severe than mine. It sounds like a terrible place to be and you need to get a handle on it.
I'll echo what Feo66 says... it sounds probably like your cortisol is high and you may need to lower it.
My favorite things to lower cortisol are Seriphos and a blend called "Theanine Serene with Relora" from Source Naturals.
Other key factors for reversing my catabolism were:
* STOPPING the anxious / obsessive / sympathetic dominant mental state with yoga, meditation and conscious reprogramming & re-wiring. When my mind started to gallop like a runaway horse again, the collagen loss continued. You are probably too weak ot do yoga to start with mediation.
* Drinking lots of easily absorbable protein and collage in the form of fresh BROTH.. I have done a lot of Dr. Lam's chicken bone broth and I'm totally sold on Jamiacan "fish tea" (soup). Broth is CRUCIAL, in my opinion.
* I take 2gm of L-glutamine per day as an anti-catabolic. 1g in afternoon, 1g in evening.
* Taking 6.6 grams of Type 1 and Type 3 collagen per day for months. Added this once my body was stable and strong enough to handle digesting it.
* Took Lysine + Proline (key building blocks for collagen) for 3 months. This is a healthy building block of collagen.
Hope this helps!
p.s. Do you have Dr. Lam's book? Tons of great info in there.
