Hi,
After 6 weeks of following a Gluten-free diet, I would say that there is no change regarding e.c.
so I stop this gluten-free diet.
What is working best for me is applying EUCALYPTUS HONEY as often as possible. Remove gently the excess of white stuff after I wake up.
Brush teeth 3 times per day.
No red wine (because it will color the dead skin)
I try also to apply margarine during the day. I'll keep you updated if there is some progress.

This is a reply to # 1,993,628My son did gluten free for about 3 months or longer and no sugar/dairy - there was really no change. At first I thought this was a systemic thing, but everything seems to point to it being localized. A good diet is always good - but I dont think its the cure. If it was a system thing there would be other symptoms than just the lips and my son and most people with EC don't seem to have any other symptoms other than EC.
Right now he is doing Vitamin C paste on his lips and cocoa butter. We are still waiting to get the Beta gel and going to do that next.
Its good to hear what people are using to make it not so noticeable because if there is not a cure, seems like people need to find a way to live with it, until there is a cure.

its been obvious for a longtime diet has nothing to do with ec. i wouldnt waste time i would just eat normal and healthy. and of course plenty of water but a healthy Diet is definately not the answer for ec. i really think we should stop talking about diets. everybody has tried it and everybody has failed in it.- Re: Gluten-free diet update (6 weeks... longterm

This is a reply to # 1,993,842There are different causes of EC. The diet has worked for quite a few people- at least with less peeling. One also needs to be extremely patient while trying the diet since it may take a long time depending on the person. Doctors have told me it may take at least a year for symptoms from celiac disease to go away after I start the diet. Right now, I am focusing on another cause. But I still believe diet is the cause for some (if not me). Since we already know about the diet, we can focus on new ideas.- Re: Gluten-free diet update (6 weeks... jsl123

are you talking about the people that began eating healthy and their lips just majically went away in 2 or 3 weeks??? seriously??? you do know there are actually people on the internet that lie??? if you seriously believe what everybody on this forum says to be true. we might aswell end the convo now.
what i do agree with you on is lee's. he clearly states his diet was important but he also did several other things. but the majority of people try going on diets for months and months with no success.

Montreal Homegrown for one. I would not call him a liar. I do not know why people would lie about a diet on this forum. I think people have better things to do. Just because something does not work for you, it does not mean it will not work for someone else. anyways man lets not go into it anyways i guess we can just agree to disagree! :)
but in regards to mont's diet i think there are 100's of people that tried that for months with no success.
his diet was just a pretty normal healthy diet. nothing to strict about it or anything. he was eating lots of fruits which are full of Sugar etc etc.
anyways i guess the diet thing is worth a try like you say but unfortunately 99.92% of people have tried dieting with no success.
also longterm no offence man but you talk as if you know what ec is??? your like the rest of us you dont have the slightest clue!

But your kind of the one who is talking like you know what EC is.
Longterm is just saying that its possible that a diet could work for SOME people. Your claiming that it wont work for ANYONE. So your really the one talking like you know what EC is/isnt and how it can/cant be treated.
I agree with Longterm in the sense that it seems that everyone is getting cured by different things, which again points to the fact that we dont necessarily all have the exact same condition. I know you dont believe this is the case, but the evidence is against you. If some people's EC is caused by a food allergy , celiac disease etc, then a diet may work.
And I do find it funny that you doubt so many people, such as MontrealHomeGrown, but you always mention Lees as someone who you "KNOW" to be cured. What makes Lees different than anyone else that you doubt? You used to do the same thing with Ihopethishelps, and we saw how that turned out. If you are going to doubt everyone, then please let us know why you so deeply believe in Lees.

iv never said anything like that! the only thing i ever once strongly thought ec was was a wound. but unfortunately i was wrong! yes i did think it was a wound and i was convinced it was a wound. and i have no problems saying i was incorrect and got it wrong.
in regards to lee's i dont 100% know if he was lieing or not in regards to everyone on this forum we dont know if people lie or tell the truth how can we know. except for people like daniel miller that give detail posts with pictures and dates etc etc.
there are definately people on this forum who lie. im sorry but if you think everybody tells the truth unfortunately in this world its not the case.
in regards to diets. well lets agree to disagree. but if diets were relevent and were a cure to our ec dont you think some people would get cured?
or are you trying to say we all have different conditions and all the doctors weve been seeing for years and years cant make a diagnosis of any of our conditions???

This is a reply to # 1,993,881You claim to know what the new cause of EC is every week or so- and demand it is only that for all. I am open to more than one cause because there is more than one cause of peeling lips.
This is really a peeling lips forum, not just an EC forum.
First, you called Lilo your angel. Now, you seem to call her a liar. People might not want to bother to help people who will bite their head off if it might not work. I am thankful to her so I can scratch virus off my list. I think the vitamin C paste would have killed virus on my lips if it was a virus so my lips would be back to normal.
It is a known fact that food sensitivities /allergies can cause peeling lips as well as chemical allergies. There are also dehydrating drinks/foods. Do you think dermatologists lie to patients when they say this???
Someone recently wrote a post about how the Paleo diet was helping more than the gluten-free diet because less carbs in the Paleo diet was making more of a difference. So, I will try Paleo diet cookbooks in the future. I think a healthier diet might help some people manage peeling lips better, but I know it is not a cure since you need to stay on the diet to maintain results.
Try to be a little more positive, which will help you more than hurt you.

This is a reply to # 1,993,914longtom mate lets get this clear iv never claimed anything yes i suggest alot of things on this forum alot. isnt that the idea of forumms to get conversation happening and discussions??? i mean we are here to figure ec or peeling lips or what ever the f***kkk you want to call it out so we can all move on. most people dont actually want to be on this forum were on here to try figure out our conditions and hopefully cure it so we can move on. and leave this f***ckcinggg forum.
and i never stated lilo a liar. i actually believe lilo. i just said its dissapointing that she hasnt updated the forum and let us know whats going on so we pressume she was unsucessful again on the 3 rd time. maybe were wrong and she is cured living it up but im sure she would of just updated and let us all know the good news.

thats what i said! and even if she doesnt come back ever she is still an angel for answering our questions and even coming back on the forum at the start.
i get the feeling you dont like me for what ever reason and thats fine. you just need to learn to not take so much stuff to heart. this is a forum there is going to be disagreements and different points of views. if you cant handle a little bit of disagreements and arguments. you might aswell not come on online forums. what im trying to say is its all just opions and discussions just stop being so soft hearted and thinking every post is negative and attacking.
everybody on this forum has no clue in the world what ec is thats why were on this forum. sure some might think they have an idea but in reality its all speculation. the only people that are ever going to find the answer are doctors. this forum has been going for nearly 10 years with all home remedies and natural stuff. and 99.99% has failed. sure theres also been alot of conventional treatments that have failed aswell but i know for fact there are thousands of other treatments that havent been tried and most likely wont ever get tried becasue most people on here are wrapped up in the natural healing which i think is great but unfortunately it hasnt worked out for most of us.
anyways thats my 2 cents! im back to work this week so you wont be hearing from me as much maybe once or twice a week! so that will be a positive! ha have a good one mate and good luck with your natural treatments and i do truely hope you and everybody on this forum finds a solution one day!

Maybe you do not have celiac disease, candida, or whatever is causing a reaction to diet, but some people do.

I wasn't accusing you of claiming you knew what EC was, and I wasn't talking about the past. I was just commenting, because you were accusing longterm of acting like he knew what EC was and how it could be cured. And you were basing this on a conversation between you two, where your comments were more indicative of you acting like you knew how EC can and can't be cured because you said diet doesn't work at all.
Longterm was just pointing out that diet COULD work for some people.
But longterm isn't one of those people who can't take a comment. I think those people have mostly cleared out.
