I was tested for this about 4 years or so ago, on the advice of a doctor I was seeing at the time. I had major reflux and candida. I can't remember if it was stool or blood, but I think stool. It came back negative. I have continued to suffer with reflux that has come and gone throughout the years. I did have an endoscopy eons ago and was tested for celiac, but I don't really find them reliable because test came back negative and I am gluten-intolerant.
Then about 2 months ago, seemingly out of nowhere I had a massive increase in reflux, nausea, lost my appetite for several weeks, everything I eat, even bland candida-diet foods makes me react, pressure in ribs, increased rosacea and broken blood vessels in cheeks (which I hear is actually a symptom of HP), heart palps from the increased reflux (went to ER and doc said heart was fine and I have been checked out by a cardiologist in the past and said my heart was very healthy), anxiety attacks and increased depression, more tired than normal, etc. I am on strict candida diet and still react to everything I eat. I was put on Pepcid to try and temporarily get my acid under control, despite my already low stomach acid, and I still am having reflux while taking it. My question is, what is the best HP test to take? I have read that stool is the most reliable, but not sure now. Anyone else go through this? Thanks.
