I found myself in a similar predicament as you. I have gained much from the techniques shared by the barefooted one. I would walk in his foot steps for a day or two maybe but prefer to walk in my own along with him. I have had success using his techniques and have added some of my own. This is my approach and may not be suitable for anyone else.
I subscribe to the thinking that the hair is a reflection of ones health and that toxic gases are released through the hair and scalp. When toxins overwhelm the natural ability for the escape to occur then problems will arise. So toxins affect the hair and scalp adversly.
Additionaly the health of the hair is determined by nutrional reserves in the body. Insufficient reserves and the hair suffers. Other issues that apply to hair loss or thinning are the presence of parasites that rob the hair of vital nutrients. Thyroid gland weakness can also affect the hair oftentimes indicated by brittleness.
The recurring theme that permeates just about every forum at Cz is that participants with ailments are seeking medical advice without competent diagnosis. They are largely picking and choosing a diagnosis that rings true to them. They are self diagnosing and this is why many just go around in circles spending gobs of hard earned dollars and not seeing results. Diagnosis is essential. My preference for diagnosis is using a voll type machine or biomeridian analysis. It gets to the heart of the matter quickly and efficiently. It is the only way I would ever have an analysis done. The doctor who I use lives several thousand miles from me but all I need to do for an analysis is send my saliva. From the DNA in the saliva the machine can read my field, diagnose, and determine the correct remedy for my body.
Now this is my approach to the problem of hair loss and it's lack of vitality. The key concepts are nutrition and detoxification. Remineralization of the body is essential. I take kelp everyday for minerals but mostly for iodine to feed the thyroid. Every 17 minutes all the blood in the body passes through the thyroid. If we have any pathogens in the body the levels of iodine will be compromised. The thyroid's iodine zaps the blood much like a chloinator in a pool. It acts to disinfect the blood. Of course a body with a yeast or fungoid problem will create a deficient thyroid because of the extra draw on iodine reserves. I also take Lugols solution which I paint on my arm. I have some German iodine drops that I take when I travel. They seem to work OK for trips. I pay particular attention to the thyroid because my EVA testing showed I was deficient. My guess is that millions are deficient and I know that MH has addressed this issue but I am relaying this from my own experience in response to your question.
Next I would ingest a high quality sun dried mineral packed sea salt or deep earth salt and no other kind. Organic salt is loaded with minerals and electrolytes. It is cheap bioavailable essential mineral nutrition. I take 1 teaspoon in water 3 times a day.
Molasses is pure colloidal organic biavailable minerals. MH has a great deal to say about this product. I take 3 tbs a day. Sometimes more.
Apple cider vinegar. I take 3 tbs a day. Plenty of research out there on this.
Flax seeds and oil. Each day I take 3 tbs fresh ground flax seeds and when lazy I use the oil instead in my smoothies. This is essential.
I take two scoops of nutritional yeast powder each day. Packed with nutrients and vitamins. I make a shake and sweeten it with molasses usually just one teaspoon.
I discovered by 'accident' a mushroom. My cat had a terrible case of hair loss (due to incessant licking). I gave her a product that had reishi mushrooms in it and she is completely healed. Not only that but she has more energy now than she has had in years. I decide I needed to try the mushrooms and see if I too could benefit. I defintely feel this is something to add to the regime. I also make two thermos' of Gynostemma tea each day. This is an antiaging and longevity herb from Asia. Tastes delicious and makes you feel alert and vital. I love it.
I take the lecithin every night as per the recommendation of MH. Plenty of info on it and you may already be quite aware of that.
Most everything indicated above is about nutrients and remineralization. Simple and cheap stuff. I want to mention one more thing. That is parsley. Everyday without fail I consume a large handful of parsley. Parsley is known to dissolve kidney stones and to be helpful in the growth of hair. It is also good for the eyes and the brain. I made a smoothie tonight of soaked almonds, one pear, handful of parsley, flax oil, level teaspoon of maple syrup and cold water. Yum. I use a Vitamix. Works great. My diet at present is roughly 90% raw and mostly fruit.
I take an herbal colon formula, Oxypowder, and Inulation (feeds bowel flora) too. I do some other stuff too but no time for that right now.
I will say that I dreaded washing my hair for fear of the handfuls that would be washed out. Fortunately I had hair to spare. I will say I have seen substantial improvement and no longer fear washing my hair. My hair is staying where it should be, its stronger and the most amazing thing is it has more body. I can feel it even when its wet.
I hope this might help you with your journey.
