Hi searchingforclues,
My guess is that you are not cleansing your bowels sufficiently leaving some partially digested food to ferment and cause the production of a fair amount of gas.
A coffee retention enema should be considered a cleansing enema. Instead use a soapsuds, baking soda or suitable cleansing solution to do a better job of cleansing. Then take your coffee enema for detoxification. By the way sauerkraut will produce a lot of gas.

Hi searchingforclues,
How are you cleansing your bowels? The feeling that water goes in your ascending colon and does not come out, seems to indicate that the solution you are using is being absorbed by your body or that it is too mild to produce a strong peristalsis action.
How large is your coffee retention enema?

Hi searchingforclues,
1 To 1 ½ quarts of plain water or baking soda solution is insufficient for a cleansing enema. As an example I take at least two 2 to 21/2 quarts of soapsuds enemas followed by either a 2 quarts plain water or saline solution enema. Then I take either a one quart coffee retention enema or take two 2 cup coffee enemas. My retention time is either 20 minutes with the 1 quart or 15 minutes with the 2 cup enema.
You maybe dehydrated. Try drinking electrolyte enriched water or something like gatorade and you need to start drinking it before taking any enemas. Also please read my blog titled “My challenge”, link below.
