I totally hear you about symptoms bringing on the anxiety. I personally haven't had that experience with my legs, except when I was on the blood pressure med Procardia for preeclampsia after delivering my post-mirena baby. My feet turned red and hot, and the top of my scalp was numb. Wierdest feeling, and it freaked me out.



I like Curezone better myself since you can search back and find good info, whereas you can't with FB.

You're at a rough stage of recovery, I think. I remember being in my first year and feeling somewhat better than I had around removal of the IUD, but still pretty lousy. It's so hard for this to drag out when you're not used to chronic illness. Before the IUD, I'd never had anything worse than bad colds and morning sickness (which was bad, but not anxiety-causing!). There are so many symptoms I've had (and some still lingering) that are so bizarre - like the "hot legs" you mentioned. These are symptoms that don't seem to be specific enough to give a good diagnosis, that make the Drs. just scratch their heads, but are strange enough to affect our lifestyle and scare our pants off.

I can't remember if you've posted more detail about the hot legs sensation, but is it similar to erythromelalgia? I know I've struggled with flushing/hot feelings in my feet, legs, and hands, even my ears sometimes. These have all improved over time (I'm about 2 1/2 years post). I feel that these issues can be caused by hormone imbalances and disruption of our autonomic systems.

Hang in there. You just need more time, even though that's hard to hear when you've already put in 8 months of recovery. 8 months is a great accomplishment! I feel your pain.

Hi Amanda, so glad to hear you are doing better! Kate still suffers with burning legs, numbness, and nerve pain but it has really improved. We noticed a significant improvement in her leg pain when she started taking 100% high absorption chelated magnesium, I read somewhere that it helped people with neuropathy symptoms and she's also been using a tens unit on her legs. We had tried everything else, and it may be a coincidence but she is really improving. I have resorted to loading her up with magnesium and electro shocking her haha but whatever it takes. The doctors don't care or listen a lot of the time, so we have resorted to researching and trying anything we can. We must be doing something right, because she is doing much better.
