Thought some of you out there with
Chronic-Fatigue-Syndrome and thyroid issues might like to read this long but interesting article on the dangers and complications of treating thyroid dysfunction, ie causing over stimulating thyroid and suppression . I am personally one of the victims of the results of being treated with modern thyroid meds and then large doses of iodine, which ultimately caused my thyroid to now reject all meds and completely crashed my adrenals - I only developed
Chronic-Fatigue-Syndrome after thyroid treatment. Wish i had come across this article before having agreed to thyroid treatment. Knowledge is power!
Hypothyroidism in Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
Article by James Burton, extract from his book titled Hormonal Dysfunction CFS, FMS, CFIDS and ME.

that link is a pretty good primer to the complexity of the problem.
i was in exactly that state of chronic fatigue, cold body syndrome(hypothyroid with normal labs), multiple chemical sensitivity and all the associated symptoms. i could barely move.
i found that environmental exposure to bad halogens and mercury were the problem. i was able to take the info i learned on the internet and then on curezone to make tremendous strides toward recovery. this was before the
Iodine forum even existed. i fasted and flushed and hydrated and oxygenated and tried all sorts of herbs and vitamins. the fasting and flushing worked very well. other supplements were hit and miss. i even tried iodine(actually iodate which is dangerous but sitting right there on the HFS shelf) and thought i was gonna die. i figured i needed
Iodine but would have to get it from food and dropped it and moved on. i didnt blame someone for my actions, i learned from my mistakes.
people do not understand the
Iodine supplementation forum. it is not a hypothyroid forum. it is not an adrenal fatigue forum. it is not a
Cancer Forum , or MS or CFS or anything else but help and advice in supplementing iodine. iodine does not cure those things. iodine corrects iodine deficiency. it also has therapeutic uses, some of which are over 100 years old. some of which are used today by regular doctors. the standard range of dose of prescription pima(
SSKI ) goes up to about two grams of
KI a day for use as an expectorant.
everybody needs iodine. i find that i need a lot more iodine than would be normal due to the dirty world we live in. sick people who are deficient in iodine will normally find that the forced lack of iodine in the body is helping to mask their problems. those problems are many times in part due to lack of iodine. its a vicious conundrum created by the person who is sick and the society they live in. nobody made them eat mcdonalds. no one made them drink diet pepsi. no one made them believe the latest health fad on tv - low fat, low salt, eggs are bad, eggs are good....
all of the above conditions need iodine as part of the cure. but iodine itself? it only cures one thing - iodine deficiency.
