Short history: Tried iodine 2 years ago but had to stop it because depression and anxiety went too strong. Because of the fact that I had silver fillings I did 50 rounds on Cutler protocol to get at least the mercury out.
Now I tried iodine again and depression startet again after 3 days of well being. Is this now bromide detox ? Can I be sure of it ?
For your information, I was on Atrovant (bromide containing asthma medication) over 10 years and I had an old TV set in my room with really strong (bromide like) smell.
So, is it now the bromide which is coming out ? Against this depression helps no ALA or DMSA and it is very strong with dark thoughts. And I get an itchy skin rash on the forehead with a lot of little red pimples. I also get tingling in hands and feet, occasionally numbness, nausea, dizziness, body odor with inflammed armpits, red eyes...
Oh, gee, I'm so sorry. I'm glad you mentioned the Atrovant, because it's easy to see that bromide will be the worst for you. When I went to the dark depression, I found relief in using just SSKI (saturated solution of potassium iodide) instead of iodine solutions for awhile. You can create the same by putting iodine in orange juice or vit C solution. The supporting elements are going to be crucial -- plenty of salt and water (or half salt/half potassium chloride), vit C, B complex, zinc, magnesium, selenomethionine 200-400 mcg. Listed here are bromine-detox symptoms:

They also describe salt loading, which can be an alternative to daily amounts of salted water along the lines of 1/2 - 1 teaspoon of salt and 2-4 liters of water.
Something that may be happening is the iodine is kicking out the bromine just fine, but your liver detoxification is backing up. There are many things that can support your liver, but I'd urge you to consider supplementing the active B12s [methyl-B12, adenosyl-B12 (dibencozide)], and L-methylfolate. I've just been struck how many of the bromine-detox symptoms can also be described as B12 deficiency symptoms. Trapper has written about B12 before, especially as injections, but I find benefit from the oral versions. There's a Jarrow mB12 5 mg, take1-2. Country Life Active B12 3 mg, take 1-2. Solgar Folate (Metafolin) 800 mcg, start with one and adjust till the depression is a memory. Start with the mB12 and just do a nibble at first since you're fragile. See if this doesn't provide your cells some energy to boot the bromide out. It'll still be tough, but your future self will thank you. Best wishes!
Thank you,
I think you are right that Bromide is my problem. At the second time I tried iodine and had the depression resurface I first thought that I still have problems with too high mercury but after 50 rounds of Cutler protocol mercury cannot be a problem anymore (and I tolerate ALA up to 600 mg now without any detox reactions, giving me more evidence that mercury isn't the problem here)
The depression which rise when taking iodine is much stronger and there are very dark thoughts occuring, having some very moody days and total emotional instability which is so strong that I can start crying by watching the news in the evening.
Again thank you.
May I ask you how high your bromide levels are in urine measurement after being on iodine for two years ?
Can you tell me a bit more of your history, e.g. which symptoms you were experiecing in the past etc ? It is quite intereseting to know other people with high bromide levels in their bodies.
Thank you all for your responses, I think I have much work to do.
