I suggest, purchase or make a water distiller. You can use it again and again.

The best water filters leave in fluoride.

While glass is ideal if you have it, I keep distilled water in a certain type of plastic (a small amount of plastic can still leach, particularly the first few times you use them). Some plastic is worse than others. Very simplistically - I use clear plastic, not white plastic.

I don't know much about what you are doing, but do you need to make tinctures? Could you use dried herbs instead?

In some countries (I don't know about Canada), to buy 100% alcohol, you need to have proof that you will use it appropriately. For example if you are a professional manufacturer of tinctures. Ordinary people cannot buy it.

Some home manufacturers use the strongest alcohol available at the bottle shop. I think it is brandy.
