If times get ruff eat the grass.

If times are tuff and not much money to spend on groceries.. eat the grass... always try to get grass that has not been chemically treated or plant your own grass on a window sill. If eating your lawn grass wash well, make sure that you have not been spraying with any type of weed killers or chemicals. And best to dry in a low oven to kill any types of bug larva. It will then dry and you can crush or crumble and put into food.
Grass any type of grass will do....
There is besides wonderful Chlorophyll, a high content of Vit. A and C, Five factors of Vitamin B Complex , K and G. Protein. It has been estimated that 12 lbs. of powdered grass, contain more vitamins then 340 lbs of vegetables and fruits and more vegetables and fruits than the average person can eat in a year.
If you eat grass the annual food bill can be cut by 25%
Please note that in the Bible that Jeremiah said, "There eyes did fail for their was no Grass." (14:6)
You can eat it fresh when young.. boil it, cook or bake it, dry it and then place it in other things like pancakes and ect.

Um, a few first hand reflections from someone who DOES eat the dandelion greens from my own (non chemically treated) yard. Dandelions are completely edible and digestible, grass, well...
Cows eat grass: they are herbivores with 5 stomachs
Chickens eat grass: they are omnivores with a gizzard full of rocks to pre-digest their food
Dogs eat grass: and 10 minutes later vomit in the corner
I would say our digestive tracts are closest to a dog - an opportunistic omnivore with one stomach and no gizzard.
I would suggest getting back yard chickens who CAN eat grass and then you have tasty eggs.

Note that I said, eat the grass when young.. this is when it is really tender.. or you can place in protein drinks.. or juice... other wise, dry... grind and place into food.. I eat barley grass all the time.. no problem O.... when young cut and placed into salads.. or cooked and added to other veg's or stir fry.. and I have only one stomach.
Great nutrition.. Many survival books recommend eating green grass.

Have to mostly agree with indigo. Humans stomach, teeth structure, and gut ecology is not designed to eat much grass. Maybe a little here and there if it is juiced and cooked and the hard to digest cell walls are broken down. Its only nutrition if we can utilize the nutrients.

This is a reply to # 1,907,462Ok, I'll clarify like the nerd that I am. :-)
I've read many survival books and you can also stay alive by eating poo. Surviving and a eating food of optimal nutrition are two different things. During the Irish Potato Famine many resorted to eating grass and they also starved to death with a bloated stomach full of undigested grass.
I define wild foods as edible to mean our bodies can gain nutritional benefit from it, not that we can eat it and nothing bad happens. Otherwise it would be poisonous. Certain types of grass is beneficial (like wheat or barley grass) but needs to be juiced or ground up to break down the tough cellulose. I was disagreeing by the generalization of grass as all being edible and beneficial. Edible wild greens like dandelions and clover and specific types of young grasses, like you said, have less rigid cellulose and so can be digested with our single stomach and give us nutrients. If I went outside and started eating a significant amount of saint augustine or crabgrass in my yard I will most likely vomit like my dog or at least have intestinal distress to rid me of it.
I've found that dandelion greens (I juice them because they taste really bitter) have noticeable effects on my energy level. I have not noticed this with wheat or barley grass or really any other green, though I've never grown and harvested my own fresh barley or wheat grass and this could make a difference. Dandelions are packed with the most nutrients and minerals than any other green or grass. They are downright medicinal.

Fresh Dandelions are a good bittter than can stimulate bile as well. My dog ate some of my kids poo in the backyard last summer. My 3 year old thought it was cute to poo outside. We wondered why our dogs breath was smelling like poo, when finally we caught our 3 year old going in the corner outside. The ole lady was pretty grossed out. The dog survived :)

Eating your yard for survival is interestingly absurd.Not enough calories even if it would digest.
Dandelions are nutritious but consuming 15 pounds would be cruel and unusual punishment.Thats 150 calories a pound and tastes like crap.
Baby poo dog breath,now that`s funny stuff.

Survival is all about getting enough calories.
Grass and pine trees are worthless from a survival perspective.
I do wild craft and have never hunted the wild grass or tree.

their are so many calories in pine sap... 4 oz would give you 40,000 calories or more... 1/2 teaspoon gives you well over 1200 calories..
Linda Runyan says she could do 20 shows on just the grass and how much nutritional aspects are on it..
listen to the show above before you speak.. or research.... . you are scoffing at things you have no information at all on ..
you need to educate your self before you speak... or in this case type... you are just to funny .... lol

Notice I started this out with when the going gets ruff..
well if times are not tuff right now for a lot of people .. I don't know what it is..
I have heard many peple on here say that money is tight. they have problems getting enough nutrition losing weight and they may not have the money for all the expensive things you buy from the store.. so go all natural .. and you would be surprised at how much free foods are loaded with nutrition and also natural anti bacterials...
Pine sap is easy to gather . High in calories. just cut a limb not large but nice size.. and the sap will run. and you can gather it.. pine trees are all over... so many verities....all are edible..... I think I read over 100 here in America.
you are doing great by eating dandelions.. but have you tried Purslane, which generally will grow in any place you decide to put in a garden.. those little seeds can stay in the ground for like 100 years waiting to grow for you... just like the Morrow plant. ... this grows all over america and people weed it out not knowing they are throwing out a highly nutritional food.

another great foods that high in nutrition along with morrow... Lambsquarters... and so many more. their is enough food in ditches that you could feed whole cities.. and few people recognise them .
With Candida .. high nutrition is of the utmost importance for getting well.. if you do not keep your nutrition high you will never get well.. the body needs all it can to heal... thus the cross over information I have given... and so many are so high in antibacterials.. which the mre you get the faster you will get well... and that best nutrition is really in wild foods.. not store bought foods... or those chemical based vitamins you sll take... super foods are the way to go.. and how much more super can you get then wild foods..
