Ok I'll try to answer this as best as I can. First off, TMA is not a bacteria, it is an organic compound that is found in food sources that contain traces of choline. The reason why TMA will make you smell is because there is an ezyme(FMO3) in your body that is malfunctioning, and it's not properly breaking down the compound TMA. Since TMA is not being broken down properly in your digestion, it is being built up in your body and then excreted through your sweat, skin, and breath. So to put in plainly, the unbroken TMA compound is causing you the odor
I don't have TMAU so I'm not certain on this, but I believe that people who do have TMAU will not really benefit from taking probiotics(unless you have other digestive problems other than TMAU). Probiotics do increase the number of bacteria, but they increase the "good bacteria" that supports the immune system, the digestive system, the lining of the intestines, and the absorption of nutrients from food. The "bad bacteria" is the one that is suppose to make you smell bad or increase the chances of illness or disease. To get a better understanding of probiotics you should type it in a search bar and look at videos that talk about it. Since they will be way more informative than I am
Lastly, granulated
Sugar doesn't have any choline, trust me, I've just looked it up. Also, you shouldn't really be worrying about
Sugar if you have TMAU since it doesn't effect how you smell. Choline effects the way TMAU sufferers smell
