Hi everyone.
I'm on day 4 of my 30+ day fast of eater and 0 calorie 0 carb drinks.
This is so far the easiest fast I've ever done. Truly it doss get better as you go and the more fasts you do the easier it is to get in "the zone".
Some tips I've picked up along the way.
I drink more than the recommended 8 cups of water. It helps to ease hunger pains immensely. I also feel less "dried out" and queasy when I wake up. Before bed I chug a 32
oz. 0 calorie hydration sports drink.
Plenty of resting is key. I haven't really gotten out of bed much in the past few days. I am awake and alert and sleep about the same as I do non fasting. I plan to pick up some light exercise soon perhaps in a week or so.
I don't "avoid" seeing or smelling food as it is all around us. I am learning to accept that everyone seems to be eating at all times of the day! It is there no matter what, it will be there for me again when I am finished my fasting and healthy again. I do find my sense of smell has improved to the point I can smell food a mile away. I find when my boyfriend is cooking in the kitchen I find the odor of grilling meat and bacon to be irritating so I close the bedroom door and light a stick of incense to block it out.
The fasting breath is another issue. I brush my teeth often and floss. I was using altoid mints until I discovered they contain sugar.. oops! I haven't used them on this fast at all. Mouthwash can help for a while as well as rinsing with salt water.
Time goes by more quickly keeping yourself busy. I don't have a job to go to right now, so I spend a lot of time on the internet using my netbook, reading about fasting, diets and before/after pics to keep me motivated. I also watch plenty of netflix streaming tv without commercial breaks about fast food.
These are a few things I learned along the way. If anyone wants to share some of their ideas to help make fasting easier it would be nice to hear them.
Happy fasting.
