I'm so sorry that you all are going through this, but hang in there! I am a little over 2 years post, and believe me, it took awhile to feel better but I am so glad I got the Mirena removed.
I also had about a month after removal before I got a period, and it was a very light one. I have had crazy PMS before my periods ever since, but it's nice to know that my body is starting to function in a cyclic way again.
One really low risk suggestion for starting your bleed that worked for me is ginger parsley tea. Years before Mirena, I went of Mircette and didn't have a period for 6 months! During this time I was feeling really awful, but did not want to follow my doctor's suggestion of a progesterone shot. I felt screwed up enough by hormones and didn't want to push it.
I looked online and an herbal remedy to kickstart your period is strong ginger tea (I use traditional medicinals brand) either in a bag or from the freshly shredded root, and if you want to, you can add freshly chopped parsley. At the time I was less a believer in herbal remedies than I am now, but after six months of no periods, drinking these teas all day for a week, I finally started my period! If my period is late these days, I also drink the tea and it seems to help.
Good luck ladies! I believe I am an outlier, only in that it took me so long to feel better. I am sure you will get better faster than I did, just be patient and kind to yourself.
