I use 8 9volt batteries, battery connectors (2) + aligator clips and 12 gauge .9999 silver wire. I heat my distilled water (hot but not boiling) and seed with about a couple of ounces of colloidal silver. Of cours I wipe everything down with distilled water and rinse out my implements with distilled water (funnel, jar). I use unbleached coffee filters to pour the final product through to catch any large particles. I can make a qt in about an hour this way. I get a lovely yellow product every time. I have an aerator, but currently not using it. I just stir frequently and wipe the electrodes down every 15-20 minutes. I have been just wiping it on a paper towel, but I like the suggestion of saving it for making salves.
I don't have a meter yet to test for particles in solution, I use a small red laser pointer instead. I get a nice strong red line at the end of an hour.
