I haven't had one, but I was under the impression that the test isn't to check that your level is normal, but to give you something to compare a post-Mirena test to.

But I could be wrong:)

i don't know about the silicon test i was more worried about the barium. the web says it is added so the mirena show up on ultrasounds. i don't understand why they added barium because plastic can be seen on xrays without added barium. why would they add something so it can be seen on xray if it's not suppose to get so lost so easily?

don't worry yourself so much. i also used the mirena and it may have affected me but after 6 or 7 years i'm still here. i know it's hard to move on when you were hurt by doctors that suppose to help us.

I had a silicone blood test. I had to go to the biggest hospital around and tell them it was like a silicone breast leakage test. It took them an hour to find a code and a month to get results.

It was $80, which I had to pay out of pocket because Blue Cross's lab denied there even WAS a silicone test.

The report says: silicon, serum/plasma
Analysis by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectroscopy (ICP/AES)

The results simply said, "no silicone detected." Sorry this is not more helpful. . .
