Expect it to hit the US before long. Not just herbs, but vitamins and other supplements too. Stock up while you can.
There's more happening that people need to be aware of too:
This is happening now in Nevada!
OPPOSE SB 412
PLEASE! Keep this from passing….if it does it will spread to other states (like it did from Ohio , 114 people arrested after a bill like this passed).
Hello friends……we just left the legislative building in Nevada where we spent the afternoon listening to Nevada Senate SB412. This bill basically states that anyone, without a license from a controlling medical board, who offers nutritional advise would be fined or arrested. This would affect many people in the health and wellness industry not to mention people’s health! The Chairman said that he would like to see this bill passed quickly with some amendments, but we need a lot of changes to make it acceptable.
The bill would require licensing for, to just name a few, giving information about or practicing: Applied kinesiology, aquastretch (yep, exercising in the water for therapeutic reasons), aromatherapy (Young Living), dietary supplements (not to be discussed between "non-licensed professionals"), environmental therapy, lifestyle modification (counseling about exercise, faith, fresh air, sunlight, water...) magnetic and electromagnetic therapy (Nikken), nutrition therapy, thought field therapy (use of energy meridians, acupressure), wellness programs, therapeutic touch, and healing touch "meaning the application of a gentle touch that assists in balancing mental, emotional and spiritual well-being...(a license to hug???), health food stores, health and wellness direct sales
(Arbonne,Shaklee, etc…)
AGAIN, THIS BILL STIPULATES THAT YOU, YES,
INCLUDING PRIVATE CITIZENS, MUST
BE LICENSED BY AN "ALTERNATIVE MEDICAL
BOARD" IN ORDER TO PRACTICE OR EVEN
GIVE INFORMATION FOR ANY OF THESE!!!
This excerpt from Nevada SB 412 is just one of several that are *highly suspect and frought with undefined loopholes*: "Sections 98, 99 of this bill provide that, except for certain personal assistants, a person who practices Complementary Integrative Medicine (CIM) without a license or certificate issued by the the Board of CIM is guilty of Category D felony."
(Category D Felony in Nevada = Imprisonment 1 - 4 years, and up to $5000 fine)
Original Bill Summary: Provides for the regulation of the practice of complementary integrative medicine. (BDR 54-1105)
Current Bill Title: AN ACT relating to complementary integrative medicine; providing for the regulation of the practice of complementary integrative medicine; creating
the Board of Complementary Integrative Medicine; providing for the organization, powers and duties of the Board; authorizing the Board to license or certify qualified persons to engage in the practice of complementary integrative medicine; authorizing the Board to discipline a person who is licensed or certified by the Board for certain actions; authorizing certain persons licensed
by the Board to prescribe and possess dangerous drugs and controlled substances under certain circumstances; providing a penalty; and providing other matters properly
relating thereto.
