Your friends' time is probably coming too, unfortunately. Everyone is getting sick these days, and at younger ages. Most people I know definitely have a chronic disease diagnosed by the time they're around 40. I wouldn't compare myself to them too much. Chances are they already have symptoms in some areas but are shrugging them off, like many of us did.
If it is an allergy, you're not going to improve on it by aggravating it. I'm in agreement with Puppetmaster84.
Personally, I don't eat any bread, grain, flour, at all. I stopped cold turkey in February 2010. It was making my hypoglycemia worse, and then there's that whole gluten issue, and some people say it's not natural to eat, etc. I just cut the whole thing out. I think breads are so popular only because they're a cheap source of calories.
