"We all know this is not true. The infection never gets better by itself once it becomes chronic."
I think the answer is a little more complicated than that. I think it probably is possible for candida overgrowth to resolve on its own, eventually, IF:
--you are eating a perfect or near-perfect diet that provides plenty of food for beneficial flora
--you are drinking kefir/taking probiotics to increase the beneficial flora
--you do not take any more
Antibiotics --EVER
--(most important) you are free and continue to be free from PARASITES.
I think the
parasite issue is where things get difficult. The combination of candida overgrowth and insufficient beneficial flora, by itself, takes a toll a your immune system, which opens the door to
parasites and other infections. Once the
parasites and other infections come in, they lower your immune system even more--which results in more candida overgrowth--which results in less beneficial flora--which results in more
parasites and candida--etc. etc., ad nauseum, until you hit "the wall" like I did (i.e., your body basically gives out). It's kind of like that old anti-drug commercial: "So I can work longer.. so I can make more money.. so I can do more coke.. So I can work longer." Once the body gets into that "lack of flora-candida overgrowth-parasites present" downward spiral, you are pretty much a goner unless you are lucky enough to find out about
Miracle-Mineral-Supplement , like I did. And even then it is a deep hole to crawl out of.
