So sorry for your bad experience. How are you doing?
Just a few thoughts:
Seems like you're taking on a lot here, detoxing both at once.
Why not make it EZier on yourself? It's you who has to live within your frame, nobody else, listen to your own body speak/sing/cry lol.
If, you've gone thru the worst of it by the time you read this post, then cool, but if u r still struggling, why not try making half decaf and half-caf coffee and taper off that way or whatever combo works for you.
Juicing is a nice way to get energy, like a carrot/apple and veggie juice for instance, to help balance the buzz you're missing, and take in some minerals and vits you may be missing which may be contributing to feeling coo coo. Also, a non-caffeine tea like Red Zinger is good and you'll feel it too. There are many things you can do to make your detox pleasant and more of a journey, opposed to a nightmare.
When things got crazy for me, I took baths in
Epsom Salts for at least 20 minutes and forced my self to chill and gather my thoughts along with prayer or meditation or both depending upon your belief system.
Postum (and Pero) are bran coffee substitutes which for (me) helped substitute for coffee. I also made a strong decaf 3 or 4 tablespoons per cup - brewed: I didn't need to abandon coffee at all: The ritual was still there, the aroma was there, the caffeine wasn't but that was okay. See? Things like that. Listen to your innards. : )
Take one battle at a time, when you get some leverage, then try tapering off the chocolate and try replacing it with carob. Carob does not contain cholesterol, caffeine, theobromine, and oxalic acid, as chocolate does. Its natural sweetness also reduces the need for big doses of additional calorie-laden sweeteners, as are found in most products made from naturally-bitter chocolate.
There are many avenues for you. Be nice to yourself, and discover what works. Hope this helps.
