The praziquantel comes in a bottle of 100 tablets. I'm getting ready to upload some more detailed pics of the bottle in a bit, but right now i'm working on some How to Videos for my website. :)

The Praziquantel we offer is manufactured by The MedicPharma Co., Ltd., and is distributed by PharmaLand (1982) Co., Ltd, however both companies are one in the same as The MedicPharma Co., Ltd. is licensed under PharmaLand Co., Ltd.
It says 1982 because that's the year PharmaLand Co., Ltd became a limited business entity.

Because parasite destruction within the eye may cause irreversible lesions, therefore ocular cysticercosis must not be treated with this medication.
You would really need to see a doctor if you believe you are suffering from a parasitic eye infection. When you are dealing with an area of the body as sensitive as your eyes, it's not really a good idea to self-medicate yourself, unless you want to risk going blind.

Both medications contain the same active ingredient, and they are both of the same quality.
It's just one is a local made one while the other one is an import. The Benda is produced locally here in Thailand, while the Fugacar is produced by Janssen-Cilag, a subsidiary of the Johnson & Johnson pharmaceutical company. They are an international pharmaceutical company.

Well yeah they are available. They are just corticosteriods. Quite common actually. For all I know they might even sell them over the counter in America. You should check first. They might sell OTC steroid eye drops at CVS or Walgreens or some other pharmacy.

This is a reply to # 1,788,043I only know the generic names (Prednisolone, Dexamethasone, Hydrocortisone, Fluoromethalone, Medrysone, Rimexolone).
Whether the eye drops are prescription or OTC in America I can't really tell you. I haven't lived in America for more than 5 years now so I have no idea what they are selling OTC nowadays. Your best bet would just be to pop down to your local pharmacy and ask the pharmacist (or give them a call).
A word of caution though, corticosteroid eyedrops are extremely potent and should only be used while under your doctor's supervision. It's quite dangerous to use them without your doctor being aware of it. Corticosteroids reduce your eye's ability to fight infection and to repair injury. Using them over time can lead to glaucoma or cataracts, which can cause blindness.

This is a reply to # 1,788,054I'm confused. They say that steroids makes your parasite problem worse by causing hyperinfection. I was on prednisone for about a year and then again a few months ago when my Arthritis flared in my wrist. I am pretty sure that's why these things scattered. I did read where they said to take Albendazole along with steroids to prevent seizures and the eye problem you are discussing. It doesn't make sense to me. Wouldn't the steroids prevent it from working? or make them resistant to it?

Corticosteroids are mainly used to treat the inflammation that parasites can cause, not to treat the parasites themselves. That's where an anthelmintic medication comes into play. Plus, corticosteroids are not meant to be used long term, because yes they can decrease the efficiency of the anthelmintic medication as well as prolong the intestinal phase of the infection.
This is why you should be under the supervision of a medical professional if you are planning on using corticosteroids, because you could end up making yourself worse instead of better if you don't get the dosage and the dosing schedule exactly spot on. - Re: Questions for RXguru #137095

This is a reply to # 1,788,085I have read that too that steroids can ignite a hyperinfection if already infected even if not symptomatic as eggs may have encysted lying dormant for years.
I know in my case last year when I started using the bioidentical hormone progesterone, my aready existing infection resulted in a hyperinfection.

This is a reply to # 1,788,128I was on steroids for a year because of my Rheumatoid Arthritis . I finally got weaned off a few months ago. I also had to have a corisone shot a few months ago along with taking prednisone for a few weeks when I flared again. I would love to be under a physician's supervision, but I can't seem to get one to believe me. It has been over 2 weeks since I was referred to an infectious disease doctor and I haven't heard from them. I called them on Tuesday and was told that they would look into what was going on and they never returned my call. My son's physician will only give medicine when he gets a positive stool sample, which is almost impossible to get. I did take eggs that were exiting my skin yesterday and put in his stool sample. I don't know if it was enough, he also had some in his stool, but it doesn't seem to matter. I had actual worms in mine and it came back negative.Advertisement

I called the doctor who referred me this morning to see if they coud check for me since I haven't heard back and if the ID doc doesn't want to see me, if he could refer me somewhere else. My mom works at at hospital, so she said that maybe she coud get me in at hers if I don't hear anything. I don't understand why they don't take this seriously. I am tired of explaining myself over and over again and they act like I don't know what I am talking about.

This is a reply to # 1,788,685dude been going through the same EXACT shit, the docs think im nuts and depressed, but before I got sick I was healthy and very outgoing. The only reason why I think my doc referred me last week is because I said listen Miss, I graduated college and high school and never took a drug besides smoked some marijuana, Im no Hypocondriac, I dont have Depression issues, because I did when my parents divorced, I said listen nobody has an answer for me why I lost 15-20lbs. Why I had diaherra for over a month and a half, and grinded my teeth alot and had blood Sugar issues. I had my teeth checked like a month into my illness and I was told they were a good solid 9! Now they are a good solid 4-5 and Im 26 yrs old!!
So she decided to refer me.. I have a freakin worm in my right eye, doesnt move or anythign just stings esp. at night and Im having a difficult time figuring out if it is roundworm or tapeworm. Everytime I seem to gain a couple lbs back with no diaherra for 2-3 weeks BAM diaherra for two days and those pounds are gone, WTF is going on!!???

my own experience with tropical hospital here is if your serology tests does not show parasites then you don't have them, simple!!
there was no way or any other tests that I could prove my infection as these experts are not interested in symptoms, just the the test results, be it stool or blood.

Docs should be prescribing meds based on symptoms, when it comes to "some" infectious disease", they have to realize if something like worms become systematic most likely stool test will be negative. As for blood tests if your WBC count isnt high you are fine which is complete BS!! because if your body doesnt recognize it or cant fight it, it simply ignores it and whatever is in your body destroys you. Everbodys immune system is different 100% some peoples WBC would be high with systematic infection some people are immune suppressed or have auto immune diseases like I think I might and when you get infected with something like this its very hard to detect through tests ESP. worthless freakin stool tests.- Re: Questions for RXguru #137095

This is a reply to # 1,788,813absolutely, the only thing about getting a correct parasite result is you would know what category of parasite it is but on the downside knowing doctors and those so-called experts, they would most likely just prescribe you one or two day's anthelminthic treatment be it a hyperinfection or not.
I guess it's far better to self-medicate in that situation, at least you can dose on as many treatment cycles as needed.

My son is having his second stool sample tested right now. His doctor won't do anything until they get a positive. His are scattered also. I put a bunch of those little black eggs I pulled out of my skin and a couple of larva in his sample. I am hoping it worked, but I can't count on it. I sent actual worms that had balled up and I just happened to catch them on the toilet paper to the lab and they wouldn't test them. They said it wasn't a suitable specimen. I put them in a plastic bag in water. Excuse me for not having a lab kit at home. When I coughed up some larva and had one come out of my face, I took those with me to the E.R. and the doctor just dismissed them.
So does scattered necessarily mean a hyperinfection? or is it only a hyperinfection when you have immunosuppression. I have a suppressed immune system, but I am not sure if my son does.- Re: Questions for RXguru #137095

This is a reply to # 1,788,867from my own physical experience scattered could be taken to mean both systemic or a systemic hyperinfection, the latter being overwhelming productivity that a compromised immune system could not control nor, possibly a healthier one.
last autumn I definitely had a soft tissue hyperinfection after having had a systemic infection for a number of years which I had not treated adequately which had been practically dormant for long periods.
you will know when you have a hyperinfection of the soft tissues as the multiple activity is clearly felt through all its developing stages, throughout the whole body, within each cycle or multiple cycles depending on how many adults there are, larvae and the resulting eggs that hatch out.
califications can also be seen, although not necessarily obvious to the naked eye, within the skin as I have white califications [dead] of varying sizes and length beneath the skin. I have never had an exodus [exit] of these roundworms nor have I seen any visual movement under my skin, only felt their activity as well as sometimes twitching under the skin.
whether hyperinfection is the direct result of a suppressed immune system is hard to define because I would think even with a reasonably able immune system a hyperinfection would eventually tax any immune state whether compromised or not, that's how I see it.- Re: Questions for RXguru Boosteen

Thanks. I feel the most movement(squirming) in my feet and lower legs of the actual worms and crawling on my face inside my ears and nose and eyes. I sometimes feel them in my lungs and cough larva up. Somedays they are very active and somedays not so much. They didn't start exiting my skin until I started on a parasite cleanse, although I could feel movement before then. I felt them moving last night in my head, it freaked me out. I get these sharp pains in the side of my head often and so does my son. I have felt a larger (or it feels larger) move through my body. I have lots of strange moles popping up. A few white waxy spots also. I recently broke out in a rash from head to toe. Hopefully the albenzadole will work for the both of us.- Re: Questions for RXguru #137095

This is a reply to # 1,788,994I know exactly where you are coming from Boosteen as I share many of the same symptoms of the larger and smaller movements in and around my nose, face, eyes, scalp [my scalp which gets inflamed and sore from the bactieria] and to a lesser extent in the ears and around my body, feet sometimes all except I have no lung or gut issues with this infection that I'm aware of.
activity of movements can manifest as micro tickles, the hairlike [similar to a micro electric shock] and the larger sliding movement. Sometimes it feels like it is thrashing and flicking around. Recently I have found a few waxy bumps as well which were not there before.
have you just started with ABZ then or are you into another treatment cycle and also I can't remember whether you have taken Ivermectin, if so has this helped in anyway?
hope this weekend for you and your son is quieter on the activity front and I think taking regular cycles of these meds will have an eventual effect as this does not seem like it when you first start out on the meds because these critters are not going to go all at once or instantly, unfortunately it takes time, effort, mental strength and much patience.
Why these medical textbooks don't mention this fact on anthelminthics or anything about the migrational and breeding activity that can be felt, I just don't understand as with any other medical conditions everything relating to symptoms is well documented!
and another thing there must have been a few doctors scattered around the globe who have themselves become infected, so why don't they take more of a stand in getting these parasite infections and symptoms recognized if they have gone through the same experience as us?- Re: Questions for RXguru Boosteen

I haven't started on Albendazole yet. I am awaiting my package from RxGuru. It should get here by the end of next week. I have the pour on Ivermectin I have only used that topically, I read where ICU says you can take it internally, but it is bright blue and smells super toxic. I am afraid to try it.RxGuru says he will get Ivermectin sometime in May. I might have to wait until then.
I had my doctor's office that referred me to the ID doctor to call them and find out what is going on. They said that the ID doc was going to look at my chart that day and then call me. I am not crossing my fingers.
I don't understand either why they aren't willing to help. If I wasn't 41 I would go to school to become one, just so I could treat people like us. There is obviously a need.
I have taken a 3 dose of vermox that my first doc gave me "just in case". They didn't like it. I could feel them scatter everywhere and they were biting and stinging. It obviously didn't work and scared the crap out of me. I took the one 1200 mg of Prazi that the E.R. doc gave me for tapeworm. It didn't do much, although I don't think there is as much in my gut as there was before. I recently did an enema and not much came out.

This is a reply to # 1,787,942have had floaters for years, the ones that resemble wormlike shapes with black dot, so no doubt there but taking Albendazole has not caused my eye sight to deteriorate.
with regards to Prazi, that depends on whether it's a cestode infection and not roundworm.

Regarding your response to Question 4.
Should one avoid prazi if they have floaters in their eyes (which I suspect are larvae) and not in fact adult worms?
It seems many of us on CZ have floaters in our eyes and so should we therefore avoid Prazi as though we had adult parasites in cases such as 'ocular cysticercosis,' which I assume is a specific parasitic condition contained to the eye region.
I think in my case my eyes have larvae as a result of disseminated infection i.e not confined to the eyes.
