serenity now
Hey everyone,
While I made my goal--21 days of pure water fasting--the ultimate reward of my fasting journey seems to lie just beyond. There are subtle hints of this, tiny miracles, so to speak, so I've decided to throw in a couple more days, maybe even another seven, depending on how things continue to progress. My last blood test revealed a potassium level of 4.0. Body fat is 9.1.
Physically, there's not much new to report. Having started from a thin state, I've continued to struggle a bit with physical fatigue, dizziness upon rising, and mild dehydration. Been drinking about a gallon a day--that seems to work for me, but at times I've gotten behind and paid dearly for it.
Interesting result: at the beginning of my fast, my zero water tasted bland, even salty or bitter. But now, it tastes sweet and delicious, as if I added a tablespoon of honey to each
quart. It reminds me of what many long term fasters have said upon refeeding: that normally bland lettuce suddenly tasted like fruit.
In my opinion, this "sweet" result has amazing implications, hints of how fasting can re-align us with our optimal nutrition design, a radical and extreme journey that few would wish, or even need, to pursue.
Anyway, that's a discussion for the raw food forum.
I'll report more later,
Serenity
