Congrats! You can do this. My longest fast was for about 14 days, and it was diet soda as I recall. My longest
Water Fast was about 8 days. At anywhere between 8 and 14 days, you'll start to feel cramping (actual hunger), but you already know some about this. I think I went from like 280 to the 250s around that time, I can't remember, it's been about 4 years.
I know what you mean, I still have about 100 lbs to lose, although right now, it's more like 80
lbs. Google "Olivia Cohen", I think she posted at this forum (and received a lot of opposition). She did *3* 40 day fasts for religious purposes, pretty much one after the other with only a few day breaks in between.
She dropped from 199 to about 120, the first fast. Then there was Boumce Back, and the second fast was like 140 to 110, Boumce Back, repeat, down to 110. By the end of the 2nd and 3rd fasts, she was looking pretty strained in her face, but when she started eating again, he face got back a nice shape and looked hydrated and healthy again, and she was in the 120s. So this is possible.
I figure to lose 100 lbs fasting, at a rate of approximately one lb per day, because it will decrease, it would take 2 40-day fasts. To lose 100 lbs on a normal diet, it would take about 2 *years*. I know which one I choose, lol.
Fasting periodically about a week at a time, I got down to 237 at my lowest.
I know what you mean about not wanting to get *too* thin. I look young for my age. I know that if my skull line starts to show, I will (grudgingly) gain back some weight or stop, either at 200 or 183, whichever. But if I still look good, I'm gonna go for 165.
I'm tall like you - 6 ft, and around the weight of 240-250, no one believes I am over 200 lbs (!). Many people I think are driven by society of a 5 ft person or 5'5" and that's a totally different reality. They imagine 200 lbs to be behemoth and super morbidly obese. 300 lbs to them, knock down a wall time, but not so much on a tall person. I think right now, most people would guess around 210 or so.
At around 240 I start to look "thin" to most people - average weighted, that is to say in the BMI overweight category, lol. I've been fat most of my life since childhood, so I have no conception of what it's like to be a normal weight, but I've been close.
This is doable! Be careful though, esp. if you go on a long fast. With this fast my goal is a 7-day one, maybe push it to 10 or so days. I would LOVE to do a 40-day fast, it would be so awesome. Today, most of the 3-day stuff is gone, I'm feeling wonderful, much better and strong. But I have so much opposition, people still offering me pizzas and pies and cakes. It's weird, it's like if you ever want free groceries, just plan a fast, lol. It attracts entire fast food restaurants like magnets, lol.
