Once while searching for a liver flush, I stumbled on this column and it changed my life. I have never had an NDE, but I have lived in the body as close to "another reality" as I am to my own heartbeat. This Reality is more "real" than the one most of us use as a standard for real. I have lived in a world where loving beings show up unseen but very present; a world where the silver sage for seconds is more silver than sterling; where the scents of wild berry blossoms in the winds are more true than the most cherished perfume. And this perception has made my life very lonely. Sure, I fake it. Try not to space out too soon when people chatter about royal weddings or sports or games or the DOW or such; and I have learned stock remarks so I can hold a job...but always, always, pulled toward this Otherness that surrounds us. When I read Rudy's NDE, I was no longer strange I realized; and was gradually much less lonely in my understandings. // So where is Rudy? Has he finally gone back to where he visited? Or simply moved on in his quest to endure an earth so devoid of heaven? Is all of our chatter simply a form without substance? Or are all of us real people, with real hearts and real hungers for reality? Is this e-chat another form of "small talk" even here in this column? I am only trying to figure what this medium is all about. Is it real? Or have Facebook and Twitter become the new forms of chatter? How desolate winter can be, brown everywhere against snow; and how barren bits and bites of words can be falling on snow white screens..
