This does sound like a scary dream.

An eight yr old boy can have a lot of qualities that you as an adult do not.

To ease your mind take normal precautions about his safety.
You may want to contact some support group to get ideas of how to best deal with that. Like walking home from school with friends, or having a neighbor watch him if you're working etc.

I grew up in inner city Chicago. My folks didn't seem to worry about my safety, so neither did I.
I sincerely hope that you don't have to worry either.

Have you and mom heard about a kidnap lately? Is your kid taking more risks; changing school, walking instead of taking the school bus, hanging with older friends?.

Or has he had noticeable changes in his behavior as being desobedient, when he was not?
A part of him that is changing, can be expressed in the dream as kidnaped.


Be cautious, but don´t panic.

This dream might be just about you.

Probably you have lost in yourself all the nice qualities a 8 year old has, eg; being spontanious, curious, full of energy,expectant about life etc

The kidnap which is represneted with your kid, might sybolize those nice kid like aspects,taken away form you.
