I did a quick search and found some interesting information:

You can "self-order" a Mauve Test, it appears to be a "Spot Urine" type.
Keep in mind that if a physician is not even aware of some test or disease you mentioned that it may be best to find a new, pyroluria aware physician.
First time I've heard of the disorder.
According to this:

Vitamin B6, Zinc, and Biotin deficiency markers are primary concerns. Have you tried eating more foods and/or supplements for those specific nutrients? The above claims you may notice improvement in as little as two days.
Many physicians are difficult to work with, they are afraid of deviating from their "known" zone. Also, physicians provide "treatments" and only use the term "cure" rarely, even if the treatments lead a patient away from disease. I suggest you keep searching for a physician that suits your needs. You are, in fact, their patient/customer and asking for anything within reasonable means is a must of any involved patient! Doctors should listen to patients, not merely judge based on lab or other results.
