First off, do a colon cleanse. If you're not going often, there goes one of your best ways to keep a clean body.
An effective
Colon Cleanse can be done by combining as much good apple cider vinegar as you can personally withstand with a full glass (think a large home glass) of warm water. Once you've gotten it down, drink as much water as you can without throwing everything up -- and of course it's not supposed to be comfortable.
That's the first step, which does wonders to get things moving. Even if you don't have a bowel movement within 30 minutes of doing this the first time, it will speed things along. Depending on the person, the same process can be repeated 1-3 times a day on an "empty stomach," putting at least 4 hours between each dose. (Some people take far more than that on a regular basis, but first timers beware.)
If you're feeling brave, grind a couple handfuls of pure
Sea Salt (the dirtier looking the better) with mortar and pestle until every bit of it has been powdered. Pour that into the acv/water mixture and stir. The crushing is necessary, because you'll need a high-quality evaporated brine or mineral salt, and while Sodium chloride dissolves easily in water, many of the hard bits will not.
Even better than salt would be to add magnesium to your drink -- either Epsom salt, which I remember is very cheap, or a concentrated mineral liquid that contains high amounts of magnesium sulfate.
Once you've taken your acv/water/etc mixture, wait ten or fifteen minutes and take a quality fiber supplement, such as psyllium husk powder, as directed or as much as you want. For constipation, feel free to add
Bentonite clay; opposite the common belief, it will actually help to make things more slippery, and reduces the whiplash you'll feel from "detox."
If this method fails completely after two or three days, and you really don't see it working, or you feel it might be clogging you up worse, there's one good option left. It's even less comfortable than the acv/water-psyllium combo. Buy yourself some empty vegetarian "v-cap" capsules, one bottle a pure, "non-alcoholic" essential oil of peppermint (organic is better), and
Epsom Salt (pure).
I'm sure you've already guess, but: fill the capsules with peppermint oil, and take 1-4 (depends on the person) with a glass of Epsom salt/water. That'll do it pretty well. Space doses by 8-10 hours -- just advice from experience.
Now that you're back on schedule, or nearly back on schedule, RE-MINERALIZE in any way you want. Your liver can break down basically anything with the help of enzymes, but many of those enzymes require minerals and trace minerals you're probably missing because of drug treatment or bad habits. Hell, living in a large city for one day can burn up your natural stores of minerals even if you have no bad habits at all.
Use therapeutic doses of your favorite mineral supplement, but keep in mind the types of chemicals used should be in natural balance and of a naturally occurring type. In other words, some horse-pill with "120%" stamped right after "Iron (Ferrous ____)" is not an option. It might be worth your time and money to buy a more expensive item like an ionic (not colloidal -- they're a scam) multi-mineral or sea water, if either is available for a reasonable price. Kelp -- especially low-temp-dried, micronized kelp -- is the cheapest thing you can buy for remineralizing, and it's very effective if taken in therapeutic quantities. You can take kelp as/with a food, as a tea, in a capsule, blended with a thick fruit or vegetable, or however you want. Just make sure to mix things up, because high-temp cooking will destroy some minerals, and low-temp preparation will leave some minerals largely unavailable.
I still highly recommend kelp or sea water or concentrated sea water as your solution, even with all of the great multi-vitamins and multi-minerals out there in capsules today. In those capsules you'll find high amounts of probably-absorbable minerals, but you'll be missing out on trace elements. Also, the price is usually higher for the received effect, and in the case of therapy price does matter. If you can only afford one month of remineralizing, you can only look forward to a short-term remedy.
Oh, and your diet sounds just fine. Try for oat groats, steel cut oats, or "quick" oats, and avoid instant, especially if it has
Sugar added. Use honey or maybe agave or maple syrup to sweeten -- just drizzle some on top of the cereal after its been made. (Just a suggestion of course.) As for fruits and vegetables, variety in preparation and combination.
Hope this helped.
