Do you have any pain with your lipomas? Anyone who has many (I have virtually hundreds under my skin and some are attached to sensitive nerve endings) more than likely has Dercum's Disease which is a rare disease discoved over 100 years ago by neurologist Francis Xavier Dercum. Today Dercum's is not all that rare and many people have it, but it is rare that doctors have knoweldge OF it and IF you mention it to your doctor, 9 times out of 10 he/she will not have heard of it. Very little research has been done in regard to this very troubling and painful disease.

I had 3 lipomas removed that were protruding quite prominently on the top of both my legs. I have many and just live with it. Some are VERY painful....and some are not.

I HOPE you don't have Dercum's.
