Folks mostly do what they've been bred and told to do or behave. Breaking out of that's not easy and most never can. Its why mainstream medicine has such a grasp of most folks' minds - all that brainwashing. Same is true for interpersonal relationships. If you're a free-thinker in this area, all I can say to you is good luck in finding someone else who's similarly minded. The odds of that happening are kinda akin to finding someone on the street who's into and knowledgeable about truly healthy living, etc. - few and far between, but they're out there. However, even among those who don't embrace conventional thought, there is disagreement. "Moreless" and DonQuixote and "Vulcanel" and a dozen others still managed to disagree at times.
Its all about supply and demand - if the other person has something that's in short supply, like a combination of brains, money, charisma, mojo, etc., then that individual is in short supply and probably is worth more investment, provided they're not a pain in the rear and whining or overly-demanding in respect to things which aren't truly important, and what's important to some ain't important to others so its subjective. Plus, some come with baggage, which can be mental or physical. Me ? For the most part I don't want anything to do with anyone, most folks are pretty f-ked up cuz they don't know what's really important, which to me is just being nice and peaceful an not creating any drama and just enjoying the sun come up and set peacefully and have a few smiles inbetween while taking care of the needs of those few who deserve Love. Or something like that.
I just like folks who treat me nice and don't have a hidden or weird aire about em. I've been lucky finding quite a few, but it depends on the individual. Do a search on "mirror neurons" and you'll gain a little understanding on that, if ya want - its kinda a way of controlling people around you, and it really works. No, not control for bad purposes, rather, just influencing how they treat you via intent. I guess I have some stories on that which would have amazed me in my younger years were I then capable of understanding.
