What is the material used or called to wrap gas line pipes with?
And if you have done this before what is the best pipes kind I should use? I read copper will eventually rust...not thinking of using them.
I don't want the black pipes either.
I think I heard one to say flexible LP gas line is suppose to be what is used? Is that the best thing to use? Or is there something better to use.
It is not a very long line I have to replace.
Anyone with this answer?
Only smelling it at the meter...meter is old...someone said if your monthly bill is higher than normal...it is on you side this gas leak?
Could it just be the old meter causing this problem?
Is there a place to rent a gas sniffer ...are they cheap to buy I wonder.

MoreThis is a reply to # 1,684,707Isn't your Gas Company there supposed to repair this for free? They will here in the US. I would be afraid to mess around with this myself. Call them and say it's an emergency because you smell gas.

This is a reply to # 1,685,091If you're smelling gas, if it were me I'd call the gas company to come and out check it for you. If for some reason you can't do that then you could take some dishwashing soap and pour some on the pipe where you think it's leaking. If it is in fact leaking you'll see the soap bubble up and you'll know for sure you've got a leak. ;)

Learning about kinds of pipes used and the rest. Yeah, gas leaks are suppose to be emergencies. One neighbor got mad when she was told by her customers ...smelling gas...for one year she waited to fix that.
