I am 42 years old and had a terrible endometrial flare up with what looks like a chocolate cyst over my left ovary, which led to a recent diagnosis of endometriosis. (don't have children, do want in near future). I am being seen by a fertility doctor and will be seeing a new a gynecologist in the coming weeks since my old gynecologist didn't ever diagnose me properly.
I have been to a couple of gynecologists in the last month. They both say that my CA125 is low (44) so not really a sign of cancer but one wants to remove the entire left ovarian area because she can't see the ovary anymore. The fertility doctor however says it may still be there, but is hidden by the endometriosis. Can this be true with a chocolate cyst measuring its largest at 14cm? I have been having the symptoms of endometriosis for about three years but most prominently had constipation issues and still had a regular period so I thought I had IBS only. My gynecologist said she thought I was just getting older and never did an ultrasound!
I'm having severe constipation. I don't have urges too often and when I do, it is blocked, so most likely I have endometriosis in my colon.
I believe in natural healing, so I'm being seen by a Chinese herbologist/accupuncturist. She will begin a twice a week accupuncture schedule tomorrow. I have been taking two herbals: Resolve (for the endometrial cysts) and Da Cheng Qi Teng for the constipation. The Da Cheng only works well when I've taken Colace stool softener. The doctor is trying to make the Da Cheng work on its own by experimenting day and a half waits to take collace.
Also, I am eating lots of bitter foods and a list of foods high in vit B6 (which is meant to help the liver process endometrial tissue I think like cabbage, broccoli, etc.) and I'm doing all types of exercises that include jumping, cardio, yoga and some breathing, meditation and prayer about the things that got me here.
The cholocate cyst mass measured 14
cm at the start of my examinations. The last measurement was 9
cm. I seriously believe my body can heal itself without surgery, but the thought of endometriosis all the way in the colon and the constipation is a little discouraging.
Does anyone have any similar experiences. What has worked for you?
