I wish I had an exact recipee!! I make them to taste so I will just list all my ingrediants. Can mix and match, can throw in what you like, change it up...I have used all these.
-Brand I found "Let's do it organic" unsweetened both kinds, ground cocunut and flakes, LOVE THE TEXTURE
-Slivered almonds raw
-ground flaxseed can use a lot or a little.
-can use unsweetened cocoa powder sprinkle, little or a lot depending on your taste. I find it very bitter, so I only use about a tsp.
-little bit of raw oats? or multigrain mix like oatmeal.
-Cocunut Oil (the unrefined kind, organic, etc...) Need this to help it stick, plus cocunut is so good for us candida folks!I use enough to help it mold together so it is a lot. at least a few TBSPs!
-Someone earlier mentioned protien powder? sure why not as long as it doesn't have
Sugar in it.
-how about a tsp. of Hemp powder? I wouldn't use to much because it tastes rather strong.
-Sweeten to taste with Xylitol mostly, and I put a packet of Stevia in (don't like Stevia at all, but it's more concentrated then Xylitol and you don't taste it but it helps to sweeten.
-MIX IT ALL, PACK IT DOWN FLAT ON TO TIN FOIL AND PUT IN THE FREEZER TO MESH TOGETHER. kEEP IT IN THERE. Break off pieces for a snack.
NO HONEY!! why did someone mention honey before? that's another no no in the candida diet. I'd love to use it because it's so sticky, but folks, we can't.
Bye the way, I LOVE COCUNUT, my favorite candy bar WAS Almond Joy, so I really put tons of the cocunut in it. I love the texture of the flakes.
