using & drinking eyebright formula??

I am using the eyebright formula and wanted to know if it would be safe to, after washing the eyes with the formula, to drink what's left over or is it better to make another ounce and add the 10 drops? If you mean you want to drink the wash from the cup after you've used it to wash your eye then I'd say no, I would not drink it.
If you mean you want to use it to wash the other eye instead of preparing another batch, there are people here who prepare one eyecup and wash both eyes with the same wash. That is a matter of personal preference, unless of course you've got parasites in your eyes, if so you do not want to use the same cup for both eyes.
The directions are to take 2-4 droppersuful internally each time you do an eyewash so 10 drops of the Eyebright in an ounce of water isn't that much to throw away.
And let me just say WHOA......you are the only person I've heard about other than hearing Dr. Schulze talk about it that is actually using 10 drops in the eyecup! If I haven't misunderstood what you're saying, good for you!!!!! ;)) I do believe we'll have to give you the award for using the most drops!

This is a reply to # 1,605,918I was diognost with macular degeneration when I wasn't quite 55 (I'll be 67 in July) and cateracts about 4 years ago. I'll do what I have to to keep as much of my sight as I can and perhaps referse the mac.den. I've already noticed some improvment in my vision and that is probably the cateracts diminishing. Hurrah for that! Thanks for the information. I haven't done the 2-3 droppers full for internally. I would be buying a bottle every week and $22 is a lot for me right now.

It is fantastic to hear you've seen some improvement with your eyes! Keep washing those eyes and you'll get better and better I'm sure. ;)
You must be getting your Eyebright from Dr. Schulze at $22.00. Check out Uny's Eyebright, it is much cheaper!

And I just "lolololol-ed" when I saw that. Willowley is a city-slicker and I'm a country-farm gal. She wouldn't dream of putting something in your eye and then drinking it, and I wouldn't dream of NOT drinking it! :) :) :)
Here's the thing - all of us have been crying and got some tears in our mouth...and it's not gonna hurt you to have a few tears in your mouth. So as long as one feels comfortable with having a few tears mixed into their eyewash and drinking it, then I can see no reason to not ingest the eyewash after using it in the eye.
On the other hand, if one has eye- parasites or some type of infection in the eye, then drinking the eyewash solution after it being in the eye isn't likely that good of an idea.
I mean, afterall, there's no WAY it's safe to ingest an "infection" from some other part of your body, that's just totally unnatural and dangerous, eh? (not to mention "gross")...because NO animal in nature would EVER lick an infected wound!
Yes indeedy, we've been TOTALLY conditioned to be afraid of "germs".
Bottom line recommendations from me:
--I would never ingest the eyewash fluid after I'd used it if I knew or thought I had eye parasites.
--Knowing that there are antifungal, antiparasite, antibacterial and antiviral herbs in the eyewash, I would *think* there'd be no harm in ingesting it after using it, even if one did have an eye infection...but I wouldn't recommend it.
--If both eyes seem normal & healthy, I personally wouldn't hesitate to ingest the eyewash after I've used it (although I never have, because I never thought doing it). Since I have "plenty on hand", I always put the tincture I'm going to ingest in a different glass right before I do the eyewash procedure, and then take it after I've finished doing the eyewash.
