I'm just wondering whether too many supplements can interfere with bile production and liver function in general. I take a lot of stuff each day to deal with various issues. Here's my protocol:
For
Sugar cravings: L-glutamine (powdered form)
For candida: garlic, Three-Lac, oxygen drops, biotin, and grapefruit seed extract
For parasites:
Black-Walnut tinture and cloves
For libido: gingko biloba
For general health: flax oil (3000-4000 mg. daily), spirulina, multi vitamins, and a coenzyme B-vitamin (which states that it does not have to be converted by the liver to be used by the body)
For anxiety/depression/OCD: 15 mg. Lexapro (SSRI drug)
For birth control: Yasmin (oral contraceptive)
I know that the Lexapro and birth control are probably the most damaging of everything that I take, but unfortunately those are the two that I cannot eliminate (not at this point in my life anyway). Is there anything else on this list that is especially stressful for the liver? Also, how does drinking alcohol compare to taking supplements? Is it more damaging or about the same? I do like to have a few drinks on the weekends.
