Grassman, I haven't had a problem with the juicing basket on my Vert, I guess I'm fortunate I haven't. I love it, it puts out quality juice with the pulp being really dry.
Wow, I hadn't heard that. I haven't seen any damage but I'm gonna go look to make sure lol. I'll look at your folder if I can find it. How long had you had the Vert before this happened?
I see what you're talking about now. Mine hasn't cracked like that but I'll be watching it! Its good to know that Omega really does stand behind their product.
Your sprouts are absolutely beautiful Grassman, Uny grow sprouts but I haven't see pictures of hers. It looks like you have an abundance of them.
Mine came with a crack in the basket, brand new. I wrote to the company and they wanted me to send in my basket for replacement. I balked, saying I didn't wanna be without one for weeks, waiting! (I could still use mine. It didn't leak or anything)... So I sent them photos instead of the basket w/ cracks. They sent me a replacement.
Grassman, haven't seen your photos but mine was cracked in the same spot. I've got photos too (well, obviously 8-)).
Other than that, I adore my Vert.

This is always the question when you are going to do your first juice fast, I had that question too lol. Its kinda hard to figure out and you don't want to under buy or over buy produce but you'll learn after that first shopping/juicing time. I meant to keep a log on my first fast but I forgot to do it!
I juiced 5 pound bags of carrots at a time, several of them and I'm thinking that I got about 3-4 pints of juice from a 5 pound bag of carrots, that would be between 48-64 ounces. Of course that would depend on what kind of juicer you've got and how fresh the carrots are. I've got the Omega VRT330, they've done comparisons of the Vert and a few other juicers and it seems the Vert yields a little more juice than other models.
You are going to be juicing more than just carrots right? I mix my carrot juice with pineapple, half and half and I drink only a pint of that a day. My husband likes the carrot by itself, he would drink a couple of pints a day of just carrot. We drank lots of other fruits and veggies on a daily basis with the goal being a total of 8 pints a day if you're juicing to heal your body of a serious illness. You can mix it up anyway you want. Don't be afraid to play around with different combinations of fruits and veggies, that part is fun!
You're gonna feel so good after the first few days, you'll really notice a difference and your body will thank you for it.
Enjoy the juicing journey! ;)
