Hi. I am a 43 year old woman who has had oral herpes ever since my early twenties.
Some years have been hard (many breakouts) and some I didn't have any.
But I never had back to back break outs. They would always come at least a month or two after the last one and go away in the summer.
Until right now. For the first time in my life, I am getting one after another. This has been a bad year...I've had probably five this winter and I am in the midst of one right now but I am feeling the tingling of another!
This has been unheard of.
Does anyone know why?
My diet is the same. And I've always always eaten a really healthy diet. Never junk food. Rare sugar. I eat mostly a whole grains/beans/vegetables/fruits kind of diet. Lots of greens...everyday.
The weird thing is, except for cold chills, I am feeling really good, body wise.
I do have trouble with winter cold, and that triggers my cold sores but I am not cold right now and another appears to have been triggered. It's been unseasonably warm right now and I am not suffering from cold. Nor am I emotionally stressed (except for the herpes).
I am wondering if my body is reacting to the red algae (dulse) I am eating every day. I started supplementing (Dulse flakes in food) the beginning of this month to help with this difficult year. Dulse (red algae) is supposed to stop herpes...has anti viral properties but could it be clearing it from my system? I am taking a lot of it. I am also using Novitra topically...seems to heal things faster...it's homeopathic. I like it, it seems to help but I am wondering if it could that be in some weird way stimulating more outbreaks?
This is so different than I have experienced it. The severity seems less but the frequency higher.
I don't believe I am menopausel. I am feeling very healthy and very youthful (except for chills due to cold). Anyone have this? Any ideas why I am experiencing them more often? And any help, of course. This is so frustrating.
