"What do you believe accounts for the wide range of perceptions that NDE Experiencers have?"
I think that God is not a separate phenomenon from everything. In fact I think that everything including us, light and dark, pleasant and unpleasant, every conceivable notion is God> The term I use that nicely takes religion out of it is Infinite Potential. I use this term to say that all things are possible and arise as God is ever creating and expanding.
I see us as kind of camera angles of the overall "event." However we can tap into larger vistas of the total event as our awareness grows.
I heard one NDE that kind of echos what I am saying. I think it was Mellon Thomas?
I also don;t think of God as an entity that has an agenda. I think of God as more of a celestial clay where everything rises out of and falls back into.
That said, I think the wide variation in NDE accounts is because of people's experiences, world views and thus filters. As we expand our views though (awareness) and include more of the larger vista, we begins to see they are all beliefs and patterns that fall in the scape of infinite potential. We can have or experience anything we want on the canvas of "God."
The notion of infinite potential allows for all other experiences even the harmony and disharmony. It comes down to choice and influence.
Infinite potential is a term that suggests that you can experience anything and it also includes the aspect of free will. I also like the term because it bridges the gap between
Science and spirituality. Religions tend to be limiting where as this term is expansive and allows all other views.
Also seeing God as a separate entity creates separation and there is so much evidence to the connectivity of all things.
I remember in the Mellon NDE that he got to a point where he realized that everything was god including him and he sa all life everywhere as one interconnected, evolving and flowing mandela.
If you study fractal math, this particular mathematical language fits his experience perfectly.
