Many people have reported success with using MMS and I am happy for those it has worked for, the same as I am sad for those who have had negative experiences. I know it is a touchy subject with ardent fans and supporters and sometimes the arguments have turned quite acrimonius. That is the major reason I have refrained from posting here. However, I think I should weigh in (however lightly that might be) with my own take on MMS after looking into it for some length of time:
In my opinion, MMS is not a cure. It is just a quick fix and a dangerous one at that. It does not address the root causes of illness, does not lead to a healthy immune system and good foundation for health, and it comes with signicant risks.
When I first heard about MMS I was quite impressed. In fact, at one time I seriously considered ordering the components and making and marketing it. However, the more I looked into MMS the more leery I became until finally I reached the conclusion that it was a potentially dangerous substance that should be avoided by most people.
MMS works by inducing extreme oxidation. That may end up killing pathogens and parasites and might even help eliminate cancer cells- but it also comes with the downside of exposing the entire body to oxidative stress, and there is nothing healthy about that - just the opposite in fact. Furthermore, MMS is merely a caustic bandaid that mostly addresses symptoms. Chemotherapy and mainstream drugs work the same way, with all the attendant side effects they bring with them.
The true path to healing is to address nutritional deficiencies, eliminate toxins, and adopt a healthy lifestyle. No one ever became ill due to a deficiency in MMS, the same as no one ever got cancer due to a deficiency in chemotherapy drugs or became ill in any other way due to a deficiency in pharmaceuticals. While it may be true that in some situations, such as advanced or aggressive cancer, the dangerous symptoms must be addressed along with addressing the root causes and building a healthy foundation, I have found nothing MMS can do that other healthier options cannot do as well or better.

Jim Humble - folks either seem to love or hate the guy. Myself I am not making any judgment calls on how he has promoted MMS, but I will add that a friend of mine who runs the Minnesota Wellness Directory got in touch with Humble and asked him about MMS. According to my friend, Humble told him that MMS does not attack and kill anything specifically, but rather kills via oxidation. That is not something I am comfortable with.

I have no doubt that MMS would likely be effective topically and much safer than internal uses. Likewise I can see it as a water purifier. However, silver does the same thing in each case and despite all the mainstream bullcrap warnings, it is quite safe when properly made and administered.
I don't have a degree in chemistry, but it seems that the obvious question is whether or not MMS can be safe in any amounts that are also effective. I will simply pass and not take the chance.

Is it possible we are twins DQ?
You probably aren't old or honery enough - but maybe our family tree didn't branch.
That happens a lot down south where I live.
Tom,
Peace has had good success with silver impregnated filters to make potable water in some pretty nasty water supply areas in third world countries. NASA and the Russian space agency use silver on the Space Station too. And silver water purification is quite successful in non-chemical home swimming pool water purification. Even so, you're probably right given your wilderness scenarios. The ability to measure the amount of chlorine dioxide needed is a definite plus and getting rid of the odor would be a plus too and I am not sure how much the silver would dissipate such odors - though they are caused by bacteria and silver is deadly on bacteria. I do not have any wilderness adventures planned in the future, but I would be comfortable with one of the wilderness filtration units and colloidal silver in most instances. And if I somehow caught a bug, then I would still have the silver to knock it out. I use a VERY good silver product.

Luella and myself have used colloidal silver and lobelia in a nebulizer along with the Chinese herbal formula ClearLungs with wonderful success against coughs. For really deep and/or persistent coughs and congestion we have found that the additon of the ClearLungs is essential. Oddly enough, I just finished a post about chronic deep coughs in my forum (http://www.curezone.com/forums/fm.asp?i=1533834#i) - but then it is the season for such things.
I am glad to hear that your daughter did so well. One thing I do at the first sign of a cold or bug is to take plenty of colloidal silver and copius amounts of echinacea (the tincture is superior, but I take 3 capsules three or four times a day) and perhaps a capsule or two of olive leaf extract. On Monday of this week my man-child son was sneezing and sniffling and said he could tell he was going to be really sick. I told him I would be willing to bet he wasn't. Though skeptical, he followed my advice and took a couple of ounces of colloidal silver internally, used a pump spray to irrigate his nasal/sinus cavaties and three echinacea capsules every 4 hours and a couple of olive leaf extract capsules. Yesterday and today he is still sneezing and sniffling a bit but is amazed that he is not terribly sick.
All the best,

As I said earlier, I am not here to make any judgments on Jim Humble. The main reason I made my post was to try to provide a bit of warning for those who buy into the idea that MMS is some kind of benevolent "miracle" substance that magically heals with little or no risks. In my opinion it isn't and I would urge people to look at other healing information available on this site before leaping into the use of MMS or at the very least proceed with caution and not rely on MMS (or any other healing "miracle") alone.
There are no "miracles" in a bottle. I would say that colloidal silver, oleander, iodine (both elemental and potassium iodine in combination) and vitamin D3 would more closely fit such a label and they too should not be depended on alone but rather should be used along with an overall approach to good health that incorporates a healthy diet and lifestyle and addresses all potential nutritional deficiencies.
Our bodies developed for eons alongside a very large number of natural vitamins, minerals and other essential nutrients as well as healing herbs, life giving sunshine, natural food crops, non toxic meats and clean air and water. They also developed so that physical activity is essential for optimum health. Those are still the keys to good health and healing and ever shall be.
Insofar as giving ratings on posts in a debate forum, I would prefer to see none at all - but that too is just my two cents.

As a support forum moderator and private forum moderator I do not think it is appropriate protocol for me to comment extensively or criticize how another forum moderator gives ratings - so I will go no further down that path. I will say that in no way do I think there is any kind of kick-back situation when it comes to the WM and any particuar product. He is, in my opinion, a very highly principaled man who gives a lot of leeway to moderators and members alike. (Note: I included that last sentence to address something that another member posted, which I am happy to see has now been edited out.)
As far as silver is concerned, it is a trace mineral that mankind has ingested for eons. Recent studies in Hungary found specific silver receptors on human nerve tissue and the suspicion is that such receptors exist on many different kinds of tissue, thus making it an essential mineral in trace amounts. Granted that the amounts ingested by taking commercial or homemade colloidal and ionic silver solutions far exceed normal trace amounts, but that is true of many items and virtually all herbs when they are taken in therapeutic amounts to address specific health issues. I don't advocate daily use of silver, but when I have a health issue where it might be appropriate or if there is a bug going around, I don't hesitate to use it. And I promise you that I am not the slightest shade of blue. LOL.
All the best,
