Like America, Jordan is putting a stop to natural herbs. They are issuing warning that certain people selling herbs are not legit and are closing them with stories of great wonder.
As my friend was telling me why you could no longer purchase black seed, I had only one thought and told her no this is the American Government and their FDA crackdown. I told her what is happening in America with many mom and pop stores being closed.
I suggest you start guarding your stocks more careful and be careful with who you trust with the information that you have. Secrets are best kept secret.
It is so sad to see that many attars (herbalist) will be closed do to this. Jordanians love their attars and we go to them for everything. But according to the ministry certain attars were mixing things in their famous concoctions that were harmful. Allah knows best.
So as the world changes and news spreads about our marvelous cures some things remain the same. Stock your homes with as much as you can afford and never tell anyone that you have those stock piles.
For as sure as the sun will shine tomorrow, you just never know who will share your news with the wrong person unintentionally.

The business will go underground and "vendors" will only deal with those that can keep their mouths shut.
They cannot keep people from planting their own food and herbs - if they have the land... indigenous is best IMO anyway and God provided EVERY habitable environment with a full range of plant medicines.
Let's hope the next step is not to ban the plants we grow in our yards. Like they did with the bitter almond... and here, with olive trees. Only olive trees planted before the ban are around... and a few wild ones from seeds.
I have about 200 olive seeds... perhaps I should try my hand at it, eh?
As I have been stating... anyone with a bit of understanding of these things should only ever plant edibles. Say no to useless ornamentals...

Me and you had this talk months and months ago about stocking herbs and I never in my wildest dreams thought I would have this problem in Jordan. I know the problems are at the herbalist now but it will spread as they try and commercialize and get all the money from the natural meds.
I just came from a woman's house whose husband is on tons of medicines and a recent heart attack. I was explaining to her how to dry the cayenne in the sun but lol, maybe they will penalize for that also.
Yes, plant those seeds before it is too late. Grz, you should see my room, I just picked the leaves off the trees of the branches being discarded. I have tons of olive leaf drying out for my to last 1.5 years.

Yes indeed. Look what I am doing is placing a flannel blanket on top of my closet which is a freestanding closet in my room and placing the olive leaf up there to dry. Olive leaf or any herb should not be dried in the direct sunlight. Olive leaf takes a long time to dry.

This is a reply to # 1,525,527Many herbs must be kept for no longer than 6 months and things like olive leaf can last for years including black seed. Many herbs when you buy them such as fennel are good for only 6 months to a year so understand what you are saying.
But with the impending locking out of many things, it is good to stock what you can.

This is a reply to # 1,525,180I dry and powder leaves for the year from the old (existed mature prior to 1952) olive orchard that is just a block north of me. They exist among houses now, however the people around here let them fruit.
I have been saving the seeds from these as I harvest the olives and dry them... just what I need daily though until the season ends.
A few home owners have cut the olive trees down in their yards and have planted various green grasses and ornamentals among other things... :-\
One home owner is doing what myself and neighbors are doing and planting three to four fruit trees a year... the entire back yard and about a third of the front yard is garden.
My goal is to span the year with fruit... next trees will most likely be pomegranate and plum.

Sounds like a plan. Here in Jordan, we do not waste water on ornamental trees. Every tree has some sort of value. Where I live the yards are full of lemon, figs, pomegrante and olive trees. Not one tree that is not a food tree. The hedges are rosemary. I grow many veggies and of course I have aloe vera plants.
I don't know if you saw my post and Mike Adams also on father Romano Zago's cancer cure:
1/2 kilo of honey
6 T of whiskey or vodka ( I use raw apple vinegar)
400 grams of aloe vera juice with the leaf and everything.
Take one T first thing in the morning before breakfast.
