I do think there might be other ways to reverse type one diabetes
here are some helpful books:
There Is a Cure for Diabetes: The Tree of Life 21-Day+ Program - by Dr Gabriel Cousens
Dr. Neal Barnard's Program for Reversing Diabetes by Dr Neal Bernard
The 30-Day Diabetes Miracle: Lifestyle Center of America's Complete Program for Overcoming Diabetes, Restoring Health, and Rebuilding Natural by Franklin House
All used vegan diets, whole food diets but that included but was not necessarily 100% raw
also see a post for more on this topic I did here

also see hacres and read the many testimonies with the hallelujah 85% raw, vegan, whole food diet including diabetes reversal (but many other things as well)
Also remember that Victoria Boutenko reverse her son's type one diabetes and refused to put him on insulin as doctor said despite threats she would be turned in to children's services. She fixed him with a 100% raw food diet (her son's name was Sergei.
I suspect if they were contacted, they may be of help or verify this..it never returned though over a decade ago. I put their link on that yahoo answers question.
also see the videos I put on here on Dave the raw food trucker who reversed his type 2 diabetes in 3 days along with deadly colon cancer and kidney disease and obesity (over 200 plus pounds--those those took longer :)

Also do not forget Dr
Richard Schulze 's incurables program said to fix all disease. I know it reversed diabetes but he did not say if it was type 1 or type 2 but if you want the links to his manual where he has a chapter on it or the videos showing how to do the incurables program and download the hard to find, rare, and formerly expensive video set please email me and I will send you the link to the free download links.
Be sure if doing it to leave out nothing, to do blood
Sugar lowering herbs in the form of organic tinctures and supplements (example--bitter melon, cinnamon, alpha lipoic, chromium, etc and do things like give up pop, take LOTS of garlic, eat foods/juices that help diabetes (onion, garlic, cinnamon, high fiber foods, beans, lentils, fenugreek seeds, (fish if not vegan), barley, and high chromium foods like broccoli), to exercise, and take in lots of juices (mostly veggie), green juices and green smoothies (made with fruit combined with your green leafy veggies) as in the clinic schulze did the full incurables program and combined it with things specific to the disease.
If using sweeteners, stevia not only is safe and low cal but it actually helps diabetes and also raw agave nectar is low on the glycemic index.
