Bentonite expiration date?

I have a bottle of liquid Bentonite that has an expiration date of November 2002. Previous posts indicate that there is nothing that can spoil. So why the expiration date? Advisable to chuck it?- Re: Bentonite expiration date? New Girl

MoreThis is a reply to # 151,119Maybe regulations require that all products have an expiration date, no matter what it is. Clay (volcanic ash) is thousands of years old. I also think salt can be stored indefinitely, but, too, regulations require an expiration date.a formality.

MoreThis is a reply to # 151,119I think NewGirl is right...it's all about regulation...there's nothing in it that will spoil. I also believe that the expiration date indicates when a product needs to be sold by...not necessarily the actual shelf-life of a product.

This is a reply to # 151,135I have the same question. I opened my bottle and it stank. I was wnndering if the clay was an agar: a place for bacteria, or fungus to call home.

This is a reply to # 151,227Uh-oh...it should smell similar to clay or chalk...sort of dusty smelling. Was it a new bottle?...then take it back. If it wasn't a new bottle...how long have you had it and how have you been storing it? Had you previously opened it or was this the first time opened?
