So, I'm adding about a tablespoon of food grade DE to a gallon of water (distilled or spring). I shake it then let it set overnight. When I pour the water though (after the DE has settled to the bottom), the water is very very cloudy. Is this normal? It still tastes fine and smells fine but I'm not sure if it's suppose to be cloudy?

This is a reply to # 1,495,522Ya it`s fine,it will clear with time.You can consume a whole tablespoon of de for internal cleansing if you so choose.

This is a reply to # 1,495,522grassman is right. Nothing wrong. Mine never seems to clear; and when I add more water, it get stirred up again. I also occasionally take a tablespoon in a glass of water for help with possible parasites (which I don't think I have anymore) and to act as fiber to help with BMs.
It won't smell; unless you have something wrong with your water and your water smells. It is not organic; so it will not spoil. It won't decay. You can leave it in the water for months with no problem.- Re: DE water cloudy? #91053

I use a two litre filter jug. So once it has settled, it tends to stay settled. When i fill it up, it has to drip through the filter, so this adds the water in a gentle way that does not stir anything up from the bottom.

I think the reason it is taking so long to settle out for the one poster is because the DE is new. So there is some ultra fine powder in their that will take a lot longer to settle out than the larger particles.

i reckon a big part of my problem is purefacted undigested food so hopefully that will help clear things out abit.

This is a reply to # 1,495,522It won't hurt anything. I just don't like the grit, and it tastes a little muddy when stirred up so I let it settle out. Then I carefully pour off the water so the silica does not get stirred up.

This is a reply to # 1,495,522Thank you all for your answers. I let it settle overnight and poured it carefully so as to not stir it up but it was and is still cloudy. But according to you all of you, this is nothing to worry about. I appreciate the reassurance:)
