Rox, Those sound like they'd be the same thing, but it was silicea or silica that I got. This was 15 years ago, so there were no online sources, but it was a common thing at the health food store, and I believe it still is.
OK, I just dug out a bottle from the medicine chest. The brand is NuAge. The subcategory is "biochemic tissue salts". Silica is tissue salt #12, and is called "Silicic Oxide".
I also have a little handbook, called "The Biochemic Handbook", which tells about these salts. Interestingly, it never mentions silica for hair loss, which is one of the reasons that homeopathy is so confusing. All I know is, it worked for me, and I hope it works for you, because I know how heartbreaking it can be. I used to have dreams that all my hair fell out in the shower, but now that's a thing of the past.
